hey guys after considering the x ray XT8 i've just bought the mugen MBX 5T prospec kit, some say the x ray is better others say personal preference, what do you thing?also i've just bought the futaba 3pm 2.4ghz radio with ace 1015 servos for throttle and steering, are they any good? and last thing the most important thing,i'm teared upon what engine should i buy, money is not that much of an issue,my LHS supports Boss 28,picco idm 21 tuned, picco idm 28,Novarossi MLC21 B7 EVO,Ninja 21,Ninja 28,Axe rossi 21 mamba and cobra,is there any other engine
which can be considered "better"?Thanks for your time

Its a pretty good car the 5T, so dont over think about it, one of the best.
In the engine department, I personally have an axe rossi mamba in my prospec Buggy and it is FAST! also have a trinity Drake.28 in the truggy 5T and wow! hi speed and torque.

I also have seen some of those new BCE Chassis for the Mugen, im gonna try one of the newer versions here shortly, especially considering my stock chassis has seen better days lol i lost count on how may gallons i have ran through my stocker, but as usual, im pretty stoked to give the new BCE chassis a whirl.

I'm glad to see you're coming around on the BCE chassis for the MBX5T. The Mugen is great out of the box, however, the BCE chassis adds that extra little bit to get you into the winners circle. One caveat, you really need to be a pretty good racer to notice the difference between the stock chassis and the BCE chassis. I, for one, can atest to the BCE's chassis advantages. I love the BCE chassis and couldn't image racing without it.

Damn you southern americans We're gettin 5" of snow right now. I can't wait to run my new set up with the new chassis. Every weekend I look out the window and look at the snow and can imagine how cold it is outside.

I got mine almost 2 weeks ago, it has been sitting in my hobby room in the box since then, so I can't really say how great it is yet. I can say the box is pretty if that helps :P
I also am not putting 2000 + dollars into this one like I did my Kyosho, so that alone will show me how this kit really is. If it can stand up next to my ST-RR without any modifications except for a wheel and tire change than I'll be impressed.
But for now only time will tell. I'm still waiting for my c6 bbt7 and 2045 pipe, jr z9100s and hitech 5955tg to come in.

I did however receive tonys screws and extra gaskets today in the mail so I will most likely begin the build tomorrow morning

When the cop pulls you over doing 160 mph, and asks if you knew how fast you were going say, "yep i had cruise control on".

Tweedybird, I just finished my MBX5T Prospec build, well all but my BCE chassis, which should be here any day now.
All i can say is ....what an INCREDIBLE build.... the Mugen goes togather sooooooo nice/easy that you dont even really need the directions. I have never been SO impressed with a kit in my life (other than XRay, and i think the Mugen even rivals it...in every category but "bling". You will be seriously impressed with your Prospec. Have fun and enjoy your build
Btw, Check out the M2C Mugen suspension kits, they are AWESOME...big improvement
Here's a link: M2C front: http://www.m2cracing.com/product.sc?categoryId=29&productId=208
M2C rear: http://www.m2cracing.com/product.sc?categoryId=29&productId=160

These are (imo) one of the best upgrades you can do to the Mugen

I think I'll check out how the kit is this time around before upgrading anything, I've heard from alot of people that the prospec really doesn't need anything outside of tonys screws, new rims and rubber, and a good setup.
Besides looking at those links, the parts look like plastic, I could be wrong and they could be aluminum, but its not specified on the site. and spending 90.00 for plastic upgrades doesn't sit well in my stomach lol

we'll see how she does on the track from the kit, and if falls behind I'll just have to whip out the kyosho and dominate

Ok I did some digging and those parts are 7075 anodized alumis. Still I don't feel like burning another 90.00 bucks right now lol
If I had it my way I would do it up like the kyo, but alas I have too much invested in my new radio and recievers, engine, pipe, and servos at the moment. (roughly 1400.00 in just the items I just listed) Gulp....Hope my wife doesn't see this post...
maybe in a few months

I have the Werks b7 .21 pro. I love it and can't say anything bad about it. After I broke it in and set up the needles, i set it to run at approx. 200 degrees. This engine can hold one hell of a tune. I didn't even touch the needles all summer. She really ran great. I've changed the bearings to ceramic TKO bearings for preventative maintenance. Good engine IMO, of course a lot of people will disagree. Most people will like to go with what's new. I'll be coming out this year with it again and be right beside those with the new engines that paid a premium for just being new.
