I have a problem with my colt 10 nitro car, It always seems to keep on stalling. How do I solve this problem.

And I was wandering if I swap my force .15 engine for a TRX 2.5 engine, will it make a huge difference.

Thanks.

alright, check this out first...
Brakes...
With the engine off, see if you can roll your chassis with your radio and reciever on...
You should be able to easily roll you car along the ground...
If you can't, then you're essentially braking on neutral which is not good if your engine is not tuned right and is still turning the clutch at what is now idle rpm.... this basically means you're stalling your clutch and in turn, your engine...
Let me know if it rolls and if you can adjust your brake linkage (there should be a collet on the rod, with an inset hex screw, usually 1mm in diameter)

An engine equipped with a centrifugal clutch should never stall no matter how much brake input is applied. Provided the clutch and engine are both tuned and operating correctly.

I would check your idle stop screw, most likely this is the issue you need to address. With the air cleaner and engine off, make certain your carb is open at least 1.5mm while your radio is in the neutral and brake position.(radio turned on)

If it is closing too much turn the idle stop screw in, clockwise.

If this does not solve your problem, you make have a broken clutch spring or similar. This will cause the clutch to operate incorrectly. (engaged at all times)

Ryan

im just following the steps as they go along from chassis to engine... I avoid the retuning of engine until I have verified that chassis rolls.... I know what you mean though...

okay now we now that your brakes aren't the issue, check you idle speed, your wheels should not require brakes to stop them when the engine is on... do this on top of a block of wood, keeping all wheels off the ground.. return your idle back to a nice lower point... then turn off your engine, roll the car across the floor with reciever and radio on, check when brake engages... brakes work? off you go for a test with the engine on... don't use high throttle, just low control blips or just troll along at walking speed and then braking... do this away from people and children, preferably in a lot lined with grass on the outside ring (you won't damage your car as much if you ever lose control in one of these lots... ) let me know how it turns out...
