Hello all,
This message is to anyone out there that owns an HPI RS4 Electric Rally car (and some versions of the RS4 Pro). HPI discontinued the critical chassis parts (A230 - Main Chassis / A566 - Upper Deck) quite some time ago and the remaining stock around the world seems to have been depleted. Unfortunately this makes our cars relatively useless quite quickly if you off-road bash as the lower deck tends to split at the steering posts and the upper near the front cross. Even during on-road sessions, at HPI Challenge events, several of the RS4's met their demise.
I have recently contacted a plastic manufacturing company and turned over my 2 remaining pristine parts to see if they would be able to machine new ones for us. What I need to know is how many people would be interested in having these parts made up to revive an old RS4 or to keep on-hand as spares? They have not given me a firm cost yet but have stated that the price-break would be 125 units of the lower chassis (A230) and 90 units of the upper deck (A566). The cost will most likely be in the $20 range each shipped (combined shipping applies).
They are expecting a call Monday with order sizes to work up pricing so if you could respond here this weekend that would be great.
