LOL, I'll buy a Redcat just to talk to this guy, nice to know some people have a sense of humor. By the way, Ive argued with DownStroke in the mini section before, he needs to face the facts that he's not always right, he tends to use excuses, OFTEN.

-Inv-

Inverted, it's you that lack facts, but like so many others before you, your so-called "facts" are are based on false assumptions more than experience. Your post count is no substitute for real experience, no matter how much you wish it would be. Step outside once in a while and get some oxygen - it might help clear up some of you dementia.

As for "facts," I don't think anyone with an interest in the long term health of the RC hobby wants to see any newcomers disappointed because they made a purchase based on fraudulent advertising claims. Before someone makes the stupid statement that it's OK because nobody really expects it, let me say that the entire marketing scam of saying these cars reach such an outrageous level of performance is targeted at those that don't know any better. I wouldn't have an issue with it if you guys just said it's "fun, fast and cheap," which it probably is. Since my last post, I've been paying attention to the verified speeds of buggies that are much higher caliber than Himito cars, which should mean that if higher speeds are possible, they'd be the ones to achieve it. None of the tests I looked up showed speeds faster then 45 mph, and a recent test on your own car by people that should be able to get the car to perform to it's maximum potential, only managed speed on the low 40s. So, there are some more facts for you - your car runs about half as fast as you claim it does.

Oddly enough, I respect that you (Redcat Racing Support) at least have the balls to say that you think it's wrong for your company to advertise in this way. Even though you're still a little defensive, there's at least a little hope that you're not going to try and make excuses for this nonsense, because there is none. Try to impress upon those responsible for this sham that it's not going unnoticed and that maybe they should care that the selling points used to advertise these cars should have SOME chance in hell of being true - maybe they could even go so far as claims that are very likely to be true.

Come on now, I know your still a little upset about the whole mamba in the mini inferno incident, but give it a break, everybody gets proved wrong sometimes. I know you don't like to admit your wrong, but face it you were. And if anybody wants to talk about experience, from what your statistics stated you should have known a bit more then me. I proved my theory, others backed it up, but it's OK.

there has been alot of "false advertisement" threads in this support forum. a few months ago i actually got into it about the this very subject in another thread which was a big waste of time and went nowhere. i was arguing just to argue really. in the end i come to just a couple of questions.

1) do you (anybody) really think your going to get up to 70-80 mph on a 100+ ft straight away on ant given dirt track?

2) how far aprat do you (again anybody) think the rx/tx are going to go before you lose control of your car?

i really do hesitate to post this cause the last guy was two keystrkes away from calling me a complete moron based on my opinion, but i feel if you really wanted to go that fast why would you buy a buggy and not an on road car like the ct4/5? and i do understand that money plays a big role in many purchases.

im not trying to start anything but i see alot of posts on this subject and it makes me wonder why all these people are complaining about something that most think cant be done. i know im gonna get flamed for this but i just had to say it. FLAME AWAY!!

Guys, you have to admit that these cars and buggys do not do 80mph or 60 mph. Its is not true so it should not be advertised as so. I dont think its a big deal but what is right is right, its false advertisement. It doesnt matter how the track is set up, how far the transmitter send signal, it will not do 80mph period. There really is nothing to argue about, its false advertisement and thats it. I have a radar gun and posted the speeds of my redcat cars and they were 31mph for the volcano and 41 for the tornado xp, not even close to the claimed 60mph.

sorry man but unless your volcano is a 2 speed there is no way your getting 45mph out of a single speed with a .18.

btw, how are you measuring your speed?

Man this is funny. I think everyone should just sit back and have a good laugh. Don't think so...go read the original manual for redcat or himoto products. Their chinese to english translator, be it man or machine, is hilarious. "rear dumpage handle", "crashwerthy bumper", and there ain't a single engine in the world that is "unstoppable" no matter what it is. C'mon guys, lighten up and realize all manufactures fudge the truth a bit, it just gets funnier when one crosses languages, or oceans. Everyone here... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Well Grits, I agree 100%. Its called advertising, marketing, Hype. Ya think anyone buying a GM product
expects it to fly like in the commercials? A little Ford pickup to pull a tractor trailer out of a tunnel or a
Dodge to blow doors and all off everything it passes. I guess I,m too old because I do remember when
there was a thing called truth in advertising. Unfortunatly those days seem to have passed us by...

The big difference now seems to be people admitting they beleived the Hype and absurd advertising.
Back in the day, we would have denied like He!!! that we believed a word of it and never speak about
it again.

Bottom line is, make up your own mind, marketing peoples job is to intice you to buy, our job is to
decied how much extra the advertising ( wether its a magazine ad or a sponcered driver ) is worth to us,
then spend our money wisely.

Not trying to or wanting to start anything just MHO, so I do apoligize to all who have flow a GM, Pulled the
world with a Ford and Terrorized the intire town with a Dodge. Come to think of it there was that night the
64 Impala cleared the ditch and then landed................

Happy Holidays to All

xxmestxx, i dont think that someone is not brite because the bought a product that says 80mph and it didnt do it. someone who is not in the hobby would not know better. I know better but i have 20yrs experience in the hobby.

Everyone is acting like its ok to do fasle advertising. Its not!!!! I dont care really but people are not wrong complaining that their cars are doing 30mph when they are advertised as doing 60+mph and they shouldnt be criticized for complaining about it. It still comes down to whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong.

I own 4 redcats along with many other brands and i am pretty happy with them. The only problem i have is the gear stripping problem that i corrected using hpi clutch bells for the single and two speed and using a traxxas clutch spring instead of the stock one. The hurricane is a totally different animal from the 1/10ths, much better quality.

Ehroof is the Hurricane worth the $$$.............. To be honest the Tornado is my first r/c. When I was shopping around I really didn't look at the 60 mph or even the Traxxas that said 45mph. Knowing that this was going to be my new hobby I was just going for some thing that I could afford. Just because I knew I would trash it. So to me the price is what sold me. If it did 60 fine, but to be honest I really don't think I would have been able to control my first r/c if it did 60mph. But you are right ehroof false advertisement sucks, but then again that day and age is gone. I remember when the zips tennis shoes came out and I am sure you do to.( If you think hard enough) The commercial when he jumps over the tall bush and then a fence. I had to have those shoes. When I got them I tried to jump over my neighbors fence, didn't make it and broke my wrist. But to say they are wrong you are absolutley right, especially when kids see that (60mph!!!!!!!!!!) My kids are just the same as I was, seeing toys on commercials flying around and jumping everything in its path looks awesome to them. And then the game Redcat put on thier web site just sucks them in more. We will never get away from it .
