I clocked my tornado bb infront of my car at 68 with a half assed tune so I think 70km/h is about top in stock trim for it. Not to say that isnt fast enought!

With my Torpeda Pro .28,Proline rims and road rage tires, a firm setup and different gears
i would say its 15-20 % faster than my Stock off-road Torpeda Pro with the stock Chevron Tires

And i estimate my off road Torpeda to go at least 70 kmh and my road setup i would say 80 kmh.

Might try foamies on this , sure made a difference on my Rapida pro 1/10 on road with the foams , was smoother and more responsive and did lap quicker.

I have noticed many cheap cars sold at local retailers (wally world) like to use the phrase " 50 mph scale " That would be about 10 mph?

50 mph scale lol. 50 mph on a 1/10th scale would be 50/10=5mph real speed lol.

holy crap! these speed/false advertisment threads are still sticking to the top?
and a wow for redcat, they really have added to their line-up.
still wanna get one to see what all of the complainig is about, but unfortunatly i already have too many other money pits besides rc.

im not trying to light any matches in this gas can, but fom what ive read redcat is (aside from multiple replacement parts) an inexpesive (ie $100 buggy)way into a buggy or 4wd rc.

besides the clutch bell and spring, i think alot of breakeage is user error. i havent broken a suspension part except on the lightning when i slammed into the wall sideways on a track and broke a rear c hub, my fault. i have jumped and rolled many times and have yet to break any suspension parts.

ive only broken about 5, 2 of which i dont see how i could have avoided. the others are driver error.
theres a triple at the local track, no matter how you land it breaks them at the joint to the body. but a curb will eat those thing up.
tornado xp not the hurricane, you could drop it off a house and it would be fine

yea i go through alot of front lower arms on my tornado xp too. couple times was curbs, thats a sure break there. one time i had weak radio batteries and it ran away to wedge itself under a car tire, the lower arm wasnt the only thing i broke that time lol. couple other times i did some jumps ending in some massive cartwheels. but i do also have a volcano which i have yet to break anything on it, its definately alot more durable. but tell ya what these cars are great for the money, i dont work on my cars any more then my friends do their traxxas, ofna, losi, etc. they are right beside them in speed as well. if i could see the difference, i could warrant paying 2 or 3 times what these cars cost. but they are in no way 2 to 3 times better in my mind. you can do some major mods and or hop ups with the $200 or so difference. i have a friend that bought a smartech (also a cheap car) he has had nothing but problems with it, but im not going to bash their threads about it. they might have some decent products. maybe he just got a bad car who knows. oh yea and im not a hater, maybe thats the difference. well as i say to all my rc friends, have a ball and mash.

yea, who knows. it doesnt really matter any ways. so what they put the wrong speeds on the ad. they put the wrong numbers on alot of thing you buy, thats why i threw that in about my car cd player lol. so are people not buying the stuff just because they put unreal specs on the product. you me and everyone out there with half sence about them know that they arent going to reach 80 mph just like your car cd player is not ever going to push 45 watts per channel, realistically you will get about 8 watts per channel. that goes for about 98% of all car audio and electronics period for that matter, its just about all rediculously over rated, way worse than these cars. at least you can mod and hop up these to get more speed and what not. so i guess if he who really cares if these cars do 80 mph or wont buy one because they dont should return or get rid of all their car audio and about 95% of all their other electronics and do with out. hahaaaaaaaa!!!!! case closed ROTFL!!!!!!!!

i got my volcano to run real close to the same speed as my stock tsunami. i put a hpi 13/18 clutch bell, two speed gear box, hpi header, and assoc. pipe on it and it is alot faster than stock. hits the jumps with authority now. i have a tornado xp, tsunami, and volcano sv, and the volcano is my favorite. it handles much better and is alot easier to control. the tornado xp is the fastest though. im going to get some video tomorrow and i will put it on youtube soon.
