R_man_5k -> upgrade motor? (6/14/2006 9:50:16 PM)

A while back ago I remember you guys saying that you would have a upgrade motor to replace the .05 that is in all these little nitro cars/buggies.
Just wondering how that is comming... or if I am missing it on your web site.
I am intrested in upgradeing the motor in either my NT18 or Chaos buggy...
If I remember right it was made by Radical or something...

I read on a thread yesterday where Trinity has a .095 engine (Draked edition) that they claim will work in Vulcan ,Chaos,Xray and other mini nitros. Go to their site and ckeck it out. [8D]

I was able to find it.

Its cheaper than the ofna/picco .08 =) but i hope it has a pullstart or we're screwed.

Hey guys please read this thread from IRC Racing

Thanks for your post. IRC Racing worked in cooperation with Picco for 7 months to develop and test the engine you refer to. BY THE WAY, THAT PICCO IS A .05ci engine (Same size as the TOKI, .8cc !).However, that project was abandoned recently for several reasons. I can not give you the specific reasons on this forum. I will say that IRC Racing neither approves nor endorses the use of that Picco engine in our buggy and I will also tell you that anybody putting in that Picco engine in our Vulcan or Vulcan SE will immediately void any warranty. That should tell you a alot.

We have switched to a different Italian manufacturer to produce our mini-buggy competition engine. It will have a larger displacement and much more power than the Picco .8cc ( .05ci ). We will announce availability as soon as a projected date for availability is known. We ask IRC Racing customers to be patient and wait for "the Real McCoy".

R_man_5k -> RE: upgrade motor? (6/16/2006 2:49:55 AM)

I was reffering to that "Italian manufacturer" that they were working with ... I thought that was the one they were going to put it under the Radical line of motors... I was just looking for an update on that... had seen mindcrime post about it in one of the NT18 threads...

Mindcrime -> RE: upgrade motor? (6/16/2006 5:21:07 AM)

Hey R Man, it is still being worked on at this time, we will post more info when we have it [8D]

R_man_5k -> RE: upgrade motor? (6/16/2006 2:06:03 PM)

ok thanks... just wanted to see if it was out and I missed it. Glad to know it is still in the pipeline... good luck and hope the development goes well...

AntWar -> RE: upgrade motor? (8/30/2006 6:33:46 PM)

AntWar -> RE: upgrade motor? (9/29/2006 10:33:46 PM)

Have toasted both diffs lasted well though with the new motor was quite gentle with them
gonna get a couple of metal ones fitted if i do will let everyone know how they go.
When the front diff let go and only running with rear drive i could drift it quite well on dry tarmac no pins on the tyres after 10 mins of use.

The metal diff are now available, you can find them on our web site.

AntWar -> RE: upgrade motor? (11/12/2006 8:16:08 PM)

Well the metal diffs are not as smooth running as the original plastic items but have held up so far so they were well worth it as for the motor still running sweet far better than the original also anyone with trouble getting into second gear should get one of these engines fitted.

Matt_Tyler -> RE: upgrade motor? (12/20/2006 10:29:16 AM)

hey AntWar
whats the specs for your are is that an IRC?? is it a drake motor? easy to fit and how much did it cost?? what wheels are u using there as i am sick of my yellow ones and want an upgrade.

AntWar -> RE: upgrade motor? (12/20/2006 8:26:31 PM)

The engine is from sh got it on ebay pretty cheap around £39 delivered had to grind the crankcase on the engine to fit but was'nt to hard to do dremmel and twenty mins it has a barrel carb so had to make linkage but that was quite easy too and it flies compared to a standard buggy it as quick as my friends revo 3.3 other mods below

Acme NB16 buggy
