Courtesy of a friend of mine, Bob "Bigbird" Bray formerly of Texas and another member of The VT Modelers Club (The "Barnstormers") I can now make available to anyone interested free gyro plans. They come out of old MAN and RC Modeler mags, all completre with construction articles and everything. Have 3 downloaded right now, with 3 more on route as soon as I can figure out how to zip them all together. My e-mail is a454dinosaur@aol.com They've been scanned to download them to my files, so I hope they come out good enough to use. Merry Christmas!!

OK, got the plans downloaded and zipped Heres what we've got. 1 049 powered, plan only (gyro). 1 Modern autogyro (ma) article w/plan. Not much on construction but heavy on theory and application. 1 Gyro Falcon (gf) where they used an existing fuselage and just added rotors. Great construction article, plans for rotors and head only. 1 Otto the gyro (ot) a control line design but probibly could be converted to rc easily enough. 1 FA-61 (fa) which is a TWIN rotor, semi-scale design of the Folke-Achgelis 61 german helocopter of the 1930's. Great photos, construction article and plans. Might do this one myself 1 Super Libelle (sl) construction article and extensive plans, .19-.25 engines. 1 Little Juan (gyro1) , 049 powered bird, free flight. So, if anyones interested let me know. dinosaur454

I trust that you have written consent from both RCM and M.A.N. to reproduce their material and distribute it .....???????

I don't claim to be a legal expert or anything but isn't this a copyright violation....????????

Seasons best to all.

wow gyronut, I didn't even THINK about that. I think that you are correct. I was just so excited about sharing my good fortune with my fellow modelers that I didn't even consider any legal ramifications. I hereby retract my former statement on the plans. I will contact the mags in question and ask permission to continue the post, but if they say no, I'm sorry everyone. Much as I'd love to share, it's not worth getting my a** in trouble. Again, thanks for the heads up on that. So much for the superior intellect theory. dinosaur454

Rick,
Thank you so much for your input and comments on intellectual property. So many folks these days believe they have a complete right of entitlement. That any model plan, kit-plan/manual etc. is "public domain." It's this total lack of respect for intellectual property that keeps folks from even considering the moral or ethical issues involved. Thank you for reminding us!

I have seen Plans for sale for both Full size planes and models but would only buy from the designer or who ever has the rights to them.
But you could list the ones you have and say what issue of the model magazine, say Model Aviation or RCM they are in and then if someone is interested they could order form them.
I have plans for my reference of several gyro's. I am trying to see what others have been doing and have been successful with.
Good luck,
Jim

I realize this is a pretty old thread, but I thought I'd post anyhow...

Did you ever track down the sources for these plans? Are they still available for sale from their owners?

And which plan looked the most promising?

Hi ya'll,
Having been in business and envolved with copyrights this is
my understanding.
If the copyright owner sells the object. THAT buyer has the item
as HIS OWN to do what he wishes with.
It is not legal for him to reproduce the item and SELL IT.
However he may reproduce and provide the item to all he wishes
providing he accepts no renumeration of any kind
In short that is it. Of course you can imagine the jargon that is in the copyright laws!
Good luck!
