RCadmin -> Sell us more snake oil!! (12/30/2002 3:25:00 AM)

If this is a discussion about fuel it should be in the fuel forum. I am going to move it in there shortly. Next...let's keep it on topic and no personal attacks. Discuss the ideas and provide arguments for or against it but leave personal agendas, attacks and issues out or we have to close the thread down. Remember it's a hobby, it's fun and the site should reflect this.

Heavybird -> WHOOPS (did I spell that right?) (12/30/2002 4:51:21 AM)

C4C,

My bad, I thought we were having witty banter. I just thought that since you wanted to make broad and untrue statements about fuels to an audience such as this (RCU) that I thought we would have some fun. I guess I was wrong, you don’t seem to like it when someone does it to you. Again, I apologize, I didn’t mean to ruffle any tail feathers here.

However, after you pointed out all of my flaws as well (your good at that aren’t you) I have decided that I will start using spell checker in my posts. Also I will try much harder to “get it” when I read posts such as yours. Thank you for the help and may you have a good day as well. :-) -(look, I made a smiley face)

Heavybird -> I almost forgot (12/30/2002 5:06:28 AM)

I almost forgot something, the phrase “check to the mouth piece” was defiantly not meant as a reference for physical violence. It is a little like “checking” your bet in a poker game to the guy next to you because you know he is going to raise the bet no matter what, you simply say “check to the razor (no wait), rayser (that’s not it either) raser, (I’ve almost got it). . .raiser”

Happy holidays

It's all witty banter to me. I'm Irish. :D

Bottom line is that we all just use what works. I don't know of anyone who has studied the subject to the extent of being able to say precisely why a certain engine runs much better on fuel bottle "A" vs. all the others. After all, it's a hooby and who is going to take time to do that sort of stuff? So maybe it is the ingredient combo, or maybe your fuel absorbed more water, or maybe it's the weather, or maybe a combo of dozens of things.

I still have to laugh at some of their marketing approaches though. And I will continue buying the cheap stuff until it no longer works....then maybe move up to the next cheapest. ;-)

Back in the day, they were HONEST about fuel and what it could do...no hype or anything!

Thimble Drome fuel was "power packed for hours of fun". Can these other brands claim that?
