RFan,
You are correct the ZDZ 80 is too much for this little 82 " plane. Excess power, prop size, etc. I think an ideal engine would be a rear carb 50cc or even an older Brison sachs 3.2. Mine is not flying yet, but I have been doing this a long time including racing GS 101 inch Texans. If he goes ahead with his plan advise him to upgrade servos, number of hinges and linkage strenght.

I've noticed the flap servos are mirror image mounted in the wings. What are you guys doing about the flap servo actuation in the same direction for both servos?

Master/slave mixing? Servo reversing?

MPI sells a very inexpensive all wireded up connection in differant leangths in either a single servo set up that reverses the servo , or a Y set up that reverses one servo .

The flap servos can be mounted the same side in both wings so no reverser or slave is needed. Same is for the elevators, just mount one servo upside down. Paul

Ty,
Mine was supposed to have shipped sometime between the 18th - 20th.. (Desert camo Kittyhawk version) I have a set of CJ gear originaly bought by my flying buddy to go in a TF GS Corsair, until he discovered they would fit worth a s***. So, I'll be trying them in the P-40.

. I wanted to use my OS BGX (perfect size plane for this glow engine) instead of the usual gassers. The plane had tons of power spinning a 18x10 2-bladed Menz prop.

MK_IX

What kind of RPM's are you getting out of the BGX with that prop? How's the plane been doing still Like it ?
Thanks Ty

Maybe they're unique to the desert como versions. I would call skyshark and ask them 1st before you glue yours in. If they dont have the green ones, maybe you could get the camo version , and touch it up with your green touch-up paint kit

Also if anyone is interested I just talked to Skyshark and that more scale fairing for the gear fairing Is not available. The lady I talked to is not sure if they are going to stock it as a replacement part. It does come on the new Camo version of the plane though...
