Here is a neat picture that shows the wheel of the P-40. Not the usual cover. The Dubro Wheels can be painted to look like this....

I can't say that the p-40 wan't a fav plane of mine untill I saw a yellow aircraft all done up. then I saw this p-40 and I will sya that I liked this one as well.
If I bought the Economy Pricing p-40 from shyshark, what else would I need? It just seems that you end up paying 350$ more for some control rods, control horns, and a 150$ spinner?
I have put the TF p-51 ARF together. Would I need the wood blocks and such for the servos , if I got the budget version of this plane?

Anyone help?
Justin

Justin,
Go to this link and make an offer of $400. They will usually accept this offer for the full kit. I paid $400 plus shipping for mine. Its really a great deal on this plane. Its a great kit and the plane flies really well....So don't buy the economy kit its not worth it.....

Thank you much.
i just don't understand how there is such a price increase between the regular and the budget.
I think I should at least phone them and ask. Honestly, I am not goingto pay 780$ for this plane alone. I just have too many planes to warrent that amount. For 400$ I would buy it, as that seems more resonable. > Heck I can purchase a KMP TigerCat w/retracts, or the KMP Adam aircraft 500 for 800$ and they come with very nice air retracts. These are also complete fiberglass surfaces... These planes will fly on a .90 4-stroke or a G26 cc engine, not a 50-75cc. You see where you start to add things up, if you would purchase the 780$ for this plane. Not to mention the 800$ for the sierra retracts.... wow.
These are just some of the things I have began to think about when I thought about buying this plane. Not that I don't like the plane by any sorts, but one has to be thrifty when you start to add up all the aircrafts you have in you hangar.

Per FW thread I also put all my servos in the mid fus and not in the tail. For some reason SS/Mike likes to do this but in both the P-40 and Cristian Eagle putting them in the tail resulted in much needed nose wt so whats the point?? Maybe as an ARF its easier for most people to just plop them in the tail and not mess with cables and push rods.

WOOOWWWW that was some fast replies. The pictures sure do help and I will go ahead and mount the servos in the mid section as yours. I am using the century gear and noticed the tail wheel sits pretty much straight down unlike my TFP 51 that is more raked. Do you guys think it would help to add more angle to the tail wheel or does it taxi fine as is.

Thanks again

I took 1/4 inch off the strut of my Sierra tailwheel and also bent it back.As it came the plane was way to flat on the ground and would of nosed over easier then is already does.

you should put some angle on it...It does tend to bounce alot with the stock set up...This wa a problem with the real plane I have read too...

this is a great flying plane mine has a g62 and it screams your going to love it, flying is very predictable but the control surfaces are touchy. someone tell me how to upload pics and I'll post my finished bird
