Hey folks,
Here's a few movies of my fifth attempt at aerial video. I used a 480 line CCD camera and 99mw 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver from BlackWidowAV.com. This is my best results to date. I compressed these at a 2.1mb rate at 640x480 so they're large mpg's, but worth downloading. Enjoy!
Caution you must have a strong stomach for these videos, the rolls and spins are insanely fast.

Tom I'd have to say that your videos seem to be the best quality onboards I've seen so far. Almost no interference at all. I saw those blackwidow cameras a while back and wondered what the quality was like. Now I know

Thats an insane rollrate. What kind of bird is that?

Thanks coomarlin. I edited out most of the drop-outs but I think it's possible to tape without any drop-outs if a second person holds the antenna and points it at the model while it's flying. I'm trying to find an extension cable so I can just mount the antenna on my hat and thus have the antenna pointed where I'm looking. This has worked well for others. The BlackWidowAV tx/rx is indeed quality equipment. If you're just starting out then get one of the ready-built systems.
I have about an hour of that same kind of video. When I get the quality and variety of video I'm after, I'm going to make a VCD for use in a DVD player. I also want to get more into RPV flight where I fly it from the video screen. This is the best way to do air-air filming and chases. How about some air-air done at one of the IMAA shows? I have a 31% ultralight model that's just perfect for a camera. The video's I've made so far have been mainly experiments and practice.

Very cool. Are you using the system that comes with the 100mw output power, or are using the more powerful system? There systems go from 100 to 1000mw! That is an large jump with no middleground.
