Great work George!

Nice looking, scale in actuation and perfectly working!

Moreover the nose-well-sealing may not be that difficult in the end... thumbs up!

Ciao nubiros!

The 2 90SPs seem overkill to me: they're heavier then the 60s (which are heavier than a standard 4-stroke .70 ) and the torque/prop dia they output is unnecessary.

The 60SPs are fine, heavier than .40-.45s 2-stroke and than .70s 4-stroke, more expensive too, but they look scale inside the cowl and they turn more scale multi-bladed props: please bear in mind that the reccomended 3-blade prop the 60s turn (APC 13.4x13.5) fits by a 1/2" or so before eating the fuse... while the 3-bladed 15.75x13 the 90s turn will surely cut through it!

HTH,

Nice work on the landing gear teresos!

prokyz -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (6/8/2008 1:31:29 PM)

Maybe my thread will be stupid, if so, please excuse me.

Is it possible for the front gear movement to be smoother?
I have no experience with retracting gears, so I just ask.
Another question: where am I able to get FESTO components or other brands' components for retracting gears?
THX guys.

Hi , prokyz

I'm using the Robart 167VR Variable Rate Control Valve to control the air flow to cylinders
http://www.robart.com/air_systems/valves.aspx
This is Festo for Czech Republic : http://www.festo.com/INetDomino/cz/cs/35130f6d71a7d9e5c1256b5d0054f2a0.htm
Festo cylinders have various mounting options, with or without additional mounting components.
They have a diameter of 8 ... 63 mm for double-acting and single-acting cylinders , standard stroke lengths 10-15-20-25-etc but you can
order any stroke length from 1 to 500 mm and any mounting type you want.
Also the DSNU type cylinders have a magnetic ring build inside with the piston. With an external magnetic sensor
(extra order ...25 euros in Greece) you can use it as a switch for landing lights.
Take a look at festo catalog , they have a wide range of components and all in mm

George

schiorro -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (7/9/2008 8:06:19 AM)

I'm still finishing the plane, the prop hub is home made and the spinner also...[:D]

nubiros -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (7/12/2008 5:38:40 PM)

hi guys
tell me st about two below engines:
1- the engine that mentioned in the map ( maybe with 1.4 bhp )
2- rcv60 - sp (0.9 bhp)
can we replace second one with first one for maximum weigh ( 6 kg )?

anothe question:
difference between engine power (bhp) and engine volume (cc)? and which item is more important for selecting the engine?

which material can be replace with AL-7075? [&o]

WALKERS210-RCU -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (7/13/2008 7:34:00 AM)

Fantastic job on the plane. One question, are the props variable pitch. These pictures have re-lit a fire in me to start building again.

schiorro -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (7/16/2008 10:01:04 AM)

The props are Aeronaut camcarbon with profile variable pitch.

This is the test flight I had saturday...

Bravo schiorro! It's fantastic! [sm=thumbup.gif]

loukos -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (7/17/2008 6:50:12 AM)

Stunning models, does anyone do a laser cut kit for these plans?

schiorro -> RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215 (7/24/2008 8:17:42 AM)

Thank you,
I'm now doing some waterproof controls for water takeoff...[sm=drowning.gif] and I hope to have enought thrust for water takeoff.

bye
Emiliano

Hi schiorro,

Beautifull job on your canadair, congratulations !
Could you tell me more about the retractable landing gear, is it home made ? I am looking for the same for my aeronaut canadair(ordered since 23 june and not yet received).
Thanks a lot,

jerome
