Just had my second MVVS 26 gas engine rod bearing eat the back plate. The rod bearing bulges causing it to rub against the back plate, chafting the aluminum. Aluminum flakes go throughout the engine destroying it.
1st engine I'm told was due to not using fully synthetic oil @ 32:1 ratio.
2nd engine just received in March this year and just finished the second gallon of fuel using Mobile Racing 2T oil at 30:1 ratio.
What caused the second engine to go?
Is this a common problem with the MVVS engines?
Where can I get warranty work done on the second engine?

I really like the MVVS 26 engine until the second gallon of fuel then I just get sick when they eat themselves.

please advise

PS picture shows grove in back plate. If you look closely you can see the rod bearing bulge on the far left side (9 o'clock position) and aluminum shaving eveywhere.

Curtis,

I have not seen this happen on any MVVS gas engine.
Let's see if Pe can add anything.

Who did you buy this engine from?

I purchased both engines from PE.
Using a Mejzlik 18-8 prop @ 7900 to 8100 prm with tuned pipe.

Its the bulged bearing that appears to be milling the back plate.

For warranty work, You indeed are best off sending it to the factory directly.
I have sent you a mail with all details for shipping.

Can you post pictures of your set-up?
The engines I repaired indeed all had cooling issues. (lack of cooling, or prop too large)
The piston coating prevents the engine from sagging, so you get no warning of engine distress until too late.
