Break-in is pretty straight forward.
(ALWAYS MAKE SURE THERE IS AMPLE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST STINGER)! THIS IS CRITICAL, ESPECIALLY DURING BREAK-IN!

1. Make sure engine is set to factory settings, should say in your manual.
2. First tank, Start your engine and let it idle for a full tank, if it stalls just start it again. If you have a hard time turning the engine over, heat it with a hair dryer to expand the cylinder so the piston is not so tight.
3. Second tank Let engine cool down a bit, and start engine again, but this time you can drive it around giving it 1\4 throttle(no more though).
4. Third tank, let engine cool down a bit, and restart, now you can run giving up to 1\2 throttle bursts.
5. fourth tank, repeat step 4
6. Fifth tank, repeat step 4, but now give it a little more throttle, even full if you want, but only in short bursts of a second or so.
7. Sixth tank, start leaning out your engine but only a little at a time, (ALWAYS MAKE SURE THERE IS AMPLE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST STINGER)! THIS IS CRITICAL, ESPECIALLY DURING BREAK-IN!
8.Every tank after now you can keep tuning till you find the sweet spot on your engine, once you do, richen it about 1\8-1\4 turn, and you should be ready to rock.
Important!, the easier you are on your engine (especially during break-in), the longer and better it will run!

Hope this helps, and have a great time with your new friend!
If you have any questions, these are a great bunch of guys on this thread to help you out!

hey guys just wondering if someone can measure the length of the shocks in the rear of your st-1, with them fully depressed of course. I was going to get st-1 shocks for my mgt can't remember which ones I measured were the correct length. Be well appreciated, don't really feel like stopping by my friends house just to measure his shocks.

Nice tigers itchybum, How are your diffs set? You seem to have really uniform wear on the tires.
Well tomorrow's the big race, I'll let you know how I do.

mm depends on tune, if you are running VERY rich, about 4 minutes, tuned "good" mmm, like 10+ minutes, also varries on the amount of throttle your using to

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFUX5&P=M can THAT work with my ST-1 or is it a not so good idea (or it won't work pierod), anyone also know of other starter backplates (aka, tigerdrives) that will work with the ST-1, since i would love to run it before my fuel goes bad in my bottle

like i said already NO it will not work, unless you shim it up alot and get the backplate that matches. You also need the one way bearing from the monster gt since there is one inside the engine as well as in the roto/pull starter itself. Man I have gone through this with many vehicles. I will tell you what starterbox is the best option and cheapest in a short run. When you have finished buying one way bearings, and pullstarts and replacing worn rotostarter's you realized you could have just gotten 4 of these starter box's.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_23_52/products_id/11556

With this starterbox you simply put on the front and rear bracket but you can't use the pegs. I just look at the wheel and line it up every time, it starts up instantly anyways. The box has plenty of torque for any motor. Very good product and you can not beat the price. Seemed like the easiest battery combo was two 7.2v stick packs just a FYI.

ok, so explain this, i can FIND the starter spring on ACE hobby's site, BUT there is no "seach feature" and you can't click on the "starter" stuff on the side of the page, how frustrating, anyone know if you can purchase directly from them or what, since im gettin a little frustrated here, or i can just wait for the roto to come in stock, maybe ill get a tigerdrive
