Jay,

That's GORGEOUS, my friend. What a great tribute to the old gang!

Jag,

The pilot looks great! You guys will sell quite a few of those I expect.

Joe,

Picked up the current issue of MAN today at the LHS. Went around showing everyone saying "Hey, this is my friend Joe!" *heh*

You're a celeb! (Well...in Smyrna, TN anyway)

Today was one of those days that reminds you why you're in this hobby. EVERYTHING lined up.

Weather was 68 degrees, 3-5 mph winds right down the runway, partly cloudy.

LHS owner FINALLY had his Hangar 9 33% Extra 260 ready to maiden, and his son brought along his 44% SD Models 260, which he's getting REALLY comfortable with. We arrived at the field to find roughly _30_ other airplanes out there.

And, last but not least, everyone's wife was in an agreeable mood, so we finished the day off in my shop with some pizza and a couple of cold beverages.

The only thing that remains, of course, is to explain WHY I'm posting all this in this particular thread. Here's your explanation. Enjoy.

Thanks, Joe!

Had her down pretty low, slipping along the runway the way Jim used to. It looked SO perfect, I asked a bud to get the shot the next time, and he nailed it first try.

Hey all you Bulldog fans...

One of the "problems" (ok, nice problem to have, I admit) I've run into with my Bulldog is that, as much as I love flying it, there's SO much emotion, time, and effort in her that...honestly...I don't fly it as frequently or aggressively as I'd like to. Add to that the "involvement" that is taking a 33% bipe of ANY sort to the field, assembly, testing, disassembly, transport, etc..and...well...she's just not in the air as often as she could be.

I've thought for a while that I'd LOVE to have an inexpensive little ARF of the Bulldog just to toss around for grins and giggles. Enough that I'd think fondly of Jim when I flew it, and that former fans and friends would know right away who it was...but "small and simple" enough that it could be a 'toss it in the truck and go have a good time" daily flier.

Ta-da:

http://www.mscompositusa.com/pitts-s2-semi-scale-plane-epp.html

I've seen a couple of MS Composite's other EPP airplanes, and they're pretty nicely done, at least at first glance. With the wingspan on this thing, you're looking at something along the lines of the original .40 size that Andrew gave us, and yet being EPP a nd Electric, it's about as "quick and dirty" as you can get. Looks like it cuts a nice profile of the original Bulldog, and can be put in the air for the $200-$250 range or so.

I've got one on the way.

When I get her up and flying, I'll be sure to post a full flight report and review of things. My HOPE is that it flies well enough to be a fun "outdoor foamy", and gives me my "Bulldog fix" when I need one, but don't have the time to drag the big one out for a day's flying.

If that's the case, I'll be pushing this thing just as hard as I can...if it's a good flyer, I'd LOVE to "reward" these guys for bringing a Bulldog to the ARF market, in ANY form.
