OK so if I don't pull my leg the amps will stay down and the motor will run cooler

Vegas, AKA - WhirleyBird, I think Steve was just pulling your leg and not your amps.

Steve,
How will that make the motor run cooler if it's still pulling the same amps?

Katana,

You will notice the motor runs much cooler when you get those new booms!!

You bet this a great forum.
I remember joining RCU several years ago and it was more trying to make your way through a mine field wearing over sized snow shoes
If a thread ran to long the moderator would end it.
Flames were very common.
The heli site has always been a nice hang out.
A few days ago I posted a few questions in the fixed wing area and no one responded.
See all that RED TEXT above where you post?
That says it all.

hey guys i have a question. i a about to order a falcon and i just had a question about transmitters. what is the difference between mode 2 and mode 1? i thought it had to do with which side the "throttle" was on. (when i say throttle i meen the stick in which the y-axis is not spring loaded and is used to control the head speed.

thanks in advance for any clarification you can provide!!!

Go check this out. Huge balls, lots of control where things could go very bad in a sec. A bit too reckless for my taste, though.

I think that us here in the States have mode 2, throttle and rudder on the left stick and elevator and aileron on the right stick. And I believe that the UK, and maybe the rest of the world, use mode 1 where throtle is on the right an cylic is on left.

xargxar,

Welcome back!! Haven't heard from you for quite a while. Will be thinking of you when we arrive in Marbella tomorrow for some holiday.

Anyway, I know I have seen the plastic part you are looking for, and I think it was for the Shogun. Here is an aluminum part that I think will work, you might contact them for the dimensions. This is the best I can do for now, but if I can think of where I saw it I will let you know. Maybe try some thread searches here and over at the RCGroups Falcon thread.

Hope this helps.

xargxar,

I think I know where to get some parts like what you need but I am at work and do not have my usual list of online RC parts sources.

Carl, Xargxar:

Will these work? I still KNOW I have seen the exact part with the split section. These don't appear to be split, but still may work.

Steve,

Those are for the Shogun V2 belt drive that has a carbon fiber tail boom larger than the Shogun V1 and the Falcon .

Hi everyone,

Well I had to share my news. Even after my Falcon flight thru my wife's orchids in the house, she "let" me get another bird. After tons of research, I just purchased a Align T-Rex 600CF, and Futaba 7CHP radio system. This baby is huge, I can't wait to get it trimmed and setup the transmitter.

I plan to keep my Falcon as well becasue I love to fly it and it works great. I hope to start posting differences and simularities I find between the Falcon and a larger helicopter on my site for people who like me are expanding their love for this hobby.

If no one objects I will post to this site as well.

Happy Flying!!!

Terry

I think you mean normal and 3 D
You need to keep it in normal before you start to fly it because if the switch is in the 3D mode it over rides the speed control
So if the TX is on and the speed setting is down and you connect the battery the blades kick in at high speed

tsteege: Contrats on the 600. The first time you fly it, you will be SHOCKED at how easy it is to fly compared to a smaller heli. I don't have one myself (yet), but I have two TREX 450s - They are VERY nice helis, and rock solid...

I still like my Falcon a lot too... I use it for practicing new maneuvers and taking risks that I don't want to take with the Rexes... It's perfect for that...

Good luck with the 600, and post some pics, etc!!!

I have searched for how to adjust the paddles and cannot find it anywhere, the flat spot on the flybar kinda makes adjustment difficult and one of mine are off by a few degrees.

Does the paddle twist on the metal mount? I tried to twist it but it didn't budge and I didn't want to break it.

The part with the allen screw, the metal part of the paddle, actually screws into the paddle and the paddle can actually be rotated a smidgen to align them, or make them horizontal.

Every heli I saw had a small allen screw to loosed but i'm at a loss getting them horizontal with eye ball engennering
Does anyone have a better way to set blade pitch and paddle pitch other then tracking at high rotor speed and doing the eye ball test?
Thanks

Carl,
You can loosen the allen screw and take the paddle right off.
I don't know the best way to align then but when their right on you notice how much better the heli flies.
There must be a better way then spin, look, stop re=adjust.

Might be able to use a pitch gauge if it'll fit on the small paddles. I will try mine tonight when I get home. I just eyeballed it and it looks pretty good to me.

I hear a lot about them but I can't seem to find anyone who sells the tool for adjusting the blades or small paddles.
Bye the time I get the blades in a nice track the black links are work from removing them so many times.
Gotta be a better way.

Guys,

Other than eyeballing the paddles the only other way I know is to use a very small bubble level on the paddles. I bought several from HeliHobby and they work great for many things on a heli.

Of course, when you do all this you need to make sure the swashplate is level and all the the other head pieces.

Carl,
How can you even get close with a bubble alignment tool when the small paddles are symmetrical and the bubble will never be level
I have a laser tool here and I'm going to try that.
I been searching the web and thee are nice blade pitch tools but their all from Hong-Kong
