Are Hextronics the same as Towerpros? If they are, and they are using the same servos, I certainly wouldn't recommend them. I can't speak as to their reliability or longevity, because I returned mine before trying them in an expensive airplane. However, I can tell you that they were not nearly precise enough for proper control of an aircraft, and the backlash/bounceback when moving to full deflection and when coming to center was awful. That, however, was my experience with the Towerpros, although it would likely apply to the same servo under a different label.

has eny one tried changing the pot on any of the tower pro servos? I has a 2 tower pros on my ofna DM-1 the 10 dollar ones from nitro planes, and they work fine, they dont center great and dont have the super advertised speed but on a car they are fine, on my planes I just would not be confident to fly one of my planes with those servos, I just would tell my self " I knew this was going to happen" when the plane crashes, and this has happened to many times to me.

I know that I'm in no way a toy plane specialist (I race 1/8th buggies) but the 6 MG995s that I have are far outperforming any Hitec servo I've ever had and with specs comparable to my Ko Propos at 1/10th the cost I thought I'd give them a shot in a couple of my bashing buggies. Well after reading all your scathing reviews above I can only wonder if you are talking about the same servo. I used these servos for the steering and this is no lightweight task for them, they help up to the pounding that we dish out exceptionally, centering was satisfactory and solid, position hold was spot on and overshoot was never an issue, but maybe that was down to me winding down my EPA and travel speed. So for the price of these servos and for the experience I have had with them, I am quite happy to run them is a £1500 racing buggy.

I have them in my high dollar MBX5 prospec buggies and revos and a couple others.... They are Ok servos for what you pay for them. Im still a true Hitec HS5955tg guy and will allways keep those around.. But I have gotten a few of these servos for $20 shipped on ebay and gotten then and 1 of them not work or shutter like crazy when ya plug it in.. Good thing is the sellers have sent me replacements no questions asked... So with that said they must get alot of customers emailing about them being screwed up so their used to having to make it right somewhat by sending a replacement! Overall my 2cents they work for the money!!!

this servo is a total JOKE! i dont recomend it since the torque is no way near the billed claims. IMO it isnt stronger than 4 kg and it could no way move the tires in my clod

My advice is DON'T USE in an airplane, vehicles that stay on the ground these may be ok for.  I bought these and installed them in a  new plane.  All seemed ok on preflight checks, after takeoff and trimming the plane I then tried some different positioning of the plane, all went well until I did a hard left bank.  The plane went into a deep bank with no chance of recovering it.   Upon inspection of the aileron servo's, one had missing gear teeth on the small gear attached to the motor.  The other now has  a grinding sound when operating.  Since I put them in the rudder, elevator, and so on, we check them all and 3 out of the four left had the grinding sound.  Inspection of these did not produces any factual findings, at least that we could see, but still made the grinding sound after cleaning and reassemble.

My advice DON'T USE in an airplane.
