Franz, appreciate the Greek history lesson which I really enjoyed reading again and the ton of memories that came flooiding back into my mind from my readings during my early college days, but I am not able to make the connection with the greek adventure and a navy aircraft trainer. Can you take it any further? Smile. Chic

Good afternoon everyone, back on the # 2 T-28. I have been working on the wing, and am to the point I will need the landing gear anytime. I've been doing a number of different things, working on a scale cockpit kit, trying in get correct pull on the canopies,(did 6 with on good one), canopy fiberglass framing, so not a lot of visual work, but lots of little things. 5th kit just shipped. Will have to get a new laser cutter on board as the fellow that was so helpful in design and cutting has decided not to get back into the laser cutting business.
I don't know if i mentioned, this second build will be a D model basically and will be done up as a ground attack aircraft with camo upper and grey/white under surfaces, oh yea I have also been working on the under wing pylons and gun tubs.
Here are a few pics of the #2 wing build.
pic 1 is complete windscreen fb frame
pic 2 left wing completely framed up
pic 3 scale wing seperation
pic 4 anti rotation pins and wing seperation
pic 5 flap to aerl. split
pic 6 inboard flap split
Next up I will be installing the aerl. servo mount, flap hinges.
thanks for looking

I didn't go into any detail on the canopy problems, maybe someone out there can tell me what i am doing wrong.
Female plug is made of plaster, seems to work pretty good. Using PETG .040.
The first pull looked pretty good with a few minute air bubbles, however this was to be used, after sanding imperfections out, as a cap over the plaster plug and new canopies pulled over that.
Sanded that down, cleaned, and tried the next pull, came out very good. (Thankfully as I had an oder for a kit)
Next one looked good until it started to cool, a ripple developed along the top about 1/3 the length toward the rear. when I pulled if off the mold I found that the petg cap on the plaster had also developed the same ridge. We thought that the cap may have tried to pull up.
Went through the first process again, only this time we left a lip on the base of the first pull and stapled it down to the base of the plaster mold, sanded etc.
Next pull did exavtly the same, forming the ridge as it cooled.
Are we trapping heat? Was the plaster not completely cured? Any ideas, this is way to expensive to keep up at this rate.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
JohnnyO

JohnnyO, rec'd the kit, can not thank you enough for a great looking product. The size and quality of work on that cowl and the canopy pieces is impressive. I'm sooooo happy with your product, I do not know what to do with myself. The T-28B is number 3 in the build que. I have the Bird Dog (DAWG) and the TBF/TBM Avenger (both in RCU Warbirds) to finish first. My T-28B will be done in the Drone Controller color scheme. Will certainly post the build here on RCU when started. Chic

Are you going to change the designation on the D model from Trojan to Nomad?

Ron, Probably will leave it as just T28-D on the documentation packet, but then again maybe not. Thanks for the heads up.
Chic, Wait tell I have the main canopy fb frame done, should be soon, I finished up the mold today, just need to lay up a frame and make sure everything fits,

Roger that, will surely wait until you say your product is ready. Then just "SEND" it to me with a Paypal invoice. Also, would you have any good 3-views on the B-model to sell? I certainly want to compete with this airframe. Chic
