Is it recommended to use loctite on the servo horn screw and output shaft? Thanks

NO........ While many do, more often than not to much of the wrong product is used. Small part thread-lockers are available... I use PFM, Shoe-Goo or something similar. A very small dab is all you need. The products I noted are flexible and easily broke loose when needed.

Is the issue with locktite that the screws get welded in and nothing more?

I've been using Blue Loctite, but I've also replaced all the screws with 2.6mm cap head screws instead of the stock phillips... easier to get in and out.

Jason,

You hit the nail squarely on the head... However as I mention there are diffenent type of thread lockers, some are simply to strong for this application; especially when applied over zealously. It seems most modelers get carried away with the thread-lockers and cause more damage than not. Flexible adhesives work very well and don't find their way to the output shaft-servo arm too...

Yes the SHCS screws you mention are all that.
