what causes the nose to drop while inverted?have a 14x4 prop and still can not get it to waterfall

I'm not really sure but having it a little more tail heavy helps to keep it more level and also adding some down thrust like Zippi said.

edge,

I'm not sure exactly what you want. Are you looking to trade your Reactor fuse for a profile plane? For what it's worth, I just pulled the engine from my reactor and could be convinced to let it go cheap if that's what you're looking for. It's never been crashed (has maybe 25 flights on it) and has been fitted with the Graphtec CF gear. It's currently set up for a YS 63, but that's easy to change. It's got 2 HS5245s in the wing and 3 Futaba 9650s in the tail with a micro on throttle. Not sure what shipping to NY might be, but we might be able to sort that out. Could pull servos if you don't want them.

Erik

Here are some pics of my Reactor put into a little show. Guys, this software and the space online to show it is all free. Pretty good way to showcase all your favorite planes.

Has anyone powered there Reactor with a O.S. Max FL-70 4-Stroke, if so please comment on how it flies, hover and aerobatics. I would like to know if this engine as antiquate power.

THanks

I had the FL-70 in my Reactor for awhile. It was a great engine and it flew well for awhile with this set up. It would hover but only barely. This motor is more suited for general sport flying and general aerobatics or maybe a smaller plane. If you want to get crazy then you might want to step it up to the Saito 82 like I did. The FL-70 really is a great motor and was very reliable and easy to live with for me. It was just not the right choice for this airplane. Of course that really depends on the type of flying you do.

Thanks!!

Does the saito 82 pull the plane out of a hover, and how does it perform 3d!!! Also what kind of servo's did you use.

The Saito 82is a really good match for this plane. Mine hovers around 1/2 to 3/4 throttle depending on the weather and it has a good pullout as well. I have been having a blast with this plane since I switched to the saito motor. i think it is the best balance of power weight for this plane. As far as servos I am using Standard size Spektrum DS-281's all around and a Hitec for the rudder and throttle. I decided to use the standards since I got such a good deal. Good luck!

Thumbsticks,

Thanks for the kind words. The software and the space online to showcase your plane is all FREE. The software did all the work. It just makes me look like I know what I'm doing .

Anybody care to comment whether an OS 75 AX is a good match or not for this airframe for all out 3D. Thanks.

Which 91? My Saito 91 in this plane is just perfect, IMHO.

The wing has lots of squares, so even with the heaviest motor you could physically stuff into the cowl the plane would still fly "lighter" than most planes we have flown in the past. I'm not advocating ignoring basic assembly principles and adding unnecessary weight, just that everything in any airplane is a series of compromises. In my case, with this plane, my experience has shown me that this plane flys really well with the power my S91 yields in a 5# aircraft.

I like this plane. Mine flys very straight and has no real issues (coupling, etc.) The only way I would expect to get a truer-flying small plane would be to pony-up for a pattern plane. Nothing flys like a properly trimmed 33-45% scale plane, but for a small guy, it flys great.

I finally took the plunge and bought this plane! I have the reactor bipe, but my LHS had this one sitting on the shelf and dropped the price to $169, so I had to snatch it up! After reading through these posts (before I bought the plane) it looks like I'm sold on the Saito 82 to power this. I'm normally an OS guy, but you can't argue with the price and weight difference on the Saito, plus, I like trying all the different brands.

One thing I can't recall from the posts...what servos is everybody using. Looks like they recommend better than "standard" servos for this one.

So far I've only taken it out of the box to inspect the covering and fit and finish, and I'm very happy. Just a few wrinkles which I've already ironed out. One other thougt...did anyone replace the tail wheel? I'm not crazy about the old nylon hinge based mounting method direct into the rudder. Looks like a nice light weight Carbon fiber one might be better. I've already ordered the Graphtech Main gear based on all I read here.

Keep up the posts!

Steve
