Started building my Extra a few days ago. Tail feathers went together extremely easy. Box up the fuse, a breeze. Started the wing panels. 3/4 of the way through building the fist panel, noticed a bow. Took the panel of the board, was like a banana, 5mm bow. to late to pull apart. Checked everything for bows except the webs. put the second lot against a straight edge and they were all bowed{this is each one done before joining}. After shimming each one to straight, second panel is straight. First is lying on the shed floor under weights saturated with ammonia, hopefully will straighten. Question is, is there a problem with the die cutters or did I just get a bad kit{there are other bad pieces wood that i had to replace}?

Wiggles,

When small pieces of wood are cut from larger pieces of wood, the included stresses in the wood will change. This can cause the part to bow or twist. That's why thin strips cut from a thick piece of balsa wood will tend to be twisted.

Usually, if the parts are pinned straight when things are assembled, you come out ok.

In your case, if your wing doesn't straighten out, let us know by email directly to us, and not on the forum. We'll see how we can help you.
