Volume 3 has the Raptors. I also agree that Realflight G2 is the best if you can afford it.

I would look at Tower Hobbies, I think they have it for $189.95 with a $20.00 gift certificate, one could get a add on volume for $9.00 more. LeeU

I have an HP computer that is two years old and put real flight on it. No I can't tell you what the specs for my computer are off the top of my head or what version of real flight I had (it was loaned to me by a freind). Anyway,,,, All the planes worked fine but the heli's were all grays and black with no background graphics at all. Does this sound like my video card was to small? If so can you upgrade these. If so can you recommend one. Also if I buy a new computer, what will it need to run all the bells and whistles real flight has. Thanks

...i really do prefer it over Real Flight - IMO, maybe they tried to do too much with the scenery in Real Flight - the quality of the scenery is very good but, again IMO, the quality of the model image is not as good as AFP - i used the feature in Real Flight that makes the model image bigger after so many feet when doing a pass - it still seemed like to me that the model disappeared too fast when doing a flyby even at slower speeds - even at closer distances i had a harder time determining the model's attitude to input the proper correction than with AFP - the result? - eyestrain and headaches when i used it for very long...

...to me, the model appears larger & clearer in AFP (scenery not as good as G2) - it doesn't disappear as fast & is easier to determine the position for stick inputs (in longer sessions, i still get eyestrain - just not as bad)...

...the model seems more accurate in knife edge and hovering (others who have used both have mentioned this)...

...i think setting up your trims and mixes may be a little trickier than Real Flight - but i'm getting pretty realistic hovering on the Cap without having to play around with the setup too much - in other words, i'm able to do this without knowing all the intricacies of the mixing and trim setup - plus, the AFP models "right out of the box" are pretty much in trim...

...the helis seem very sensitive even with a lot of expo and i have to play with the throttle ATV every new session to get a good hover (if i removed the ratchet on my airplane transmitter it would probably take care of that) - overall, it still seems pretty realistic on the helis, too, but i've never flown a helicopter, so i'm not really qualified to make an informed judgment on the helis in AFP...

...AFP certainly has its shortcomings, like all simulators, but it is accurate enough that i think it has helped me in hovering, flat spins, knife edge spins, etc...

...i use my Hitec Prism computer radio with it - it works fine with the interface version that uses the serial port, $150 from Hobby Lobby - to do the 2 player stuff you need the Game Commander version which sells for $190 - you need a serial port and a game port for this one - i have a newer HP Media Center computer - no game port so i couldn't get the 2 player version...

...a comment from the Hobby Lobby computer tech - "they need to upgrade to the USB interface" - probably right (i have USB and Firewire ports accessible from the front of my computer), but it seems to work fine through the serial port...

...i'm not familiar with FMS, but i'm sure any of them should help you with orientation, etc. - none of the sims can be 100% accurate - just like there's an adjustment when you go from flying one model to another, there's a certain amount of adjustment when going from flying a sim to flying the real thing...
