haywood -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 3:10:46 AM)

Just finished breaking mine in today. This motor is awesome.

blackrain -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 3:36:23 AM)

i have a spec 2 im wondering how much better the spec three is. if its a much greater increase and does it man handle your lst

mikewoodkozar -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 5:05:21 AM)

Funny you should ask, i just put 20 heat cycles through both of the two LRP Z.28R Spec 3's today, and actually it was quite amazing how easy it was heat cycling two trucks (more easy then one infact). While one was cooling i would drive the other! Time went by really fast, tomorrow i will start to throw a tune in there direction, but seriously, these Spec 3's are amazing, even before its totally warmed up its makin gsick power, and the powerband scares me! It seems to wind out forever. I am very satisfied so far

PillowPants -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 5:36:41 AM)

Good to hear mike. Where'd you find one anyways?

dude those motors actualy need about 1-1.5 gallons before they make peak power...just wait and if your impressed now you will be amazed in a few weeks.

My Prospec is just starting to wake up after 1 gallon, and its stupid powerful..I love it

I got one from killer and one from RC planet.

TQ Batman -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 6:41:59 AM)

I had one, sucked dirt ont he 7th tank[:(] But it looked really impressive on the 6th tank when I had it race tuned. Not sure if it is worth a rebuild, think I could get away with just a piston\sleeve?

mikewoodkozar -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 3:13:25 PM)

ah man that blows! IF you find a place that has piston/sleeve combos let me know

CESSPOOL -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 4:06:48 PM)

What do you mean "sucked dirt"?

mikewoodkozar -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/5/2006 4:18:56 PM)

I can only assume the worst, air filter popped of during a race with no idea that it had and the rest of the race the motor was "sucking dirt" directly into the engine with no filter.

That spells disaster for any engine.

Although i have seen some mach's live through it lol

jjaus -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/8/2006 12:17:27 PM)

just came across this piston and sleeve for the spec 3 (you've probably already found it)

RCtruckRacer -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/8/2006 2:25:58 PM)

Shouldn't be any need to replace the conrod Sky, not after only 7 tanks. Swap out the P&S and clean/polish everything and you should be good to re-break it in.

2DMaxLST!! -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/9/2006 5:02:21 PM)

Now someone install those in a spec 2, report your results to me via PM, thx. [:D][:D]

antsb -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/10/2006 12:57:08 PM)

just finished running it in its an awsome engine. it just seams to keep going and going i also fitted the larger fuel tank which is a realy good idea with such a large engine has any one got any tips on carb settings though as i am quite new to the wonderfull world of nitro trucks

mikewoodkozar -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/10/2006 3:23:07 PM)

well, first of all you have to rotate your cooling head 45 degrees to position the main cooling hole in the right direction. Basically, the LRP logo on the head should be facing the exhaust.

antsb -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/10/2006 6:04:05 PM)

thanks for that wot about carb settings though its had 4 tanks of fuel so far as per the run in instructions
and should i do anything with the shims iam using odonalds rtr 20%

jjaus -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/12/2006 8:04:59 AM)

Mikewoodkozar, just wondering what clutch setup you run with the spec 3's, are the alloy 3 pawl losi peformance clutches up to the task
jjaus

antsb -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/12/2006 10:52:48 AM)

iam using the losi alloy ones and so far thay seam to b holding up ok

antsb -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/12/2006 11:13:17 AM)

what exaust is everyone using on this engine?
iam using stand lst one is it worth changing it i only use the truck for bashing[>:]

jjaus -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/12/2006 12:11:26 PM)

antsb, is there quite a big difference in power over the stock Mach .26, i mean is it quite a noticable difference in performance ? There's a Nosram .28 in the hobby shop near were i work and from what i've been told they are the same engine as the LRP spec2, so im thinking of grabbing it as its not a bad price.

antsb -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/12/2006 12:25:01 PM)

i would say the diffrence is vast the .28 spec3 is a amazing engine the power band is huge i would recomend it.
it just pulls and pulls now nothing fazes the truck at all[:D] !!!!!

I am running the Orion V6 clutch with sleeved bells and shifted motor mounts on both trucks, so far so.......freakin amazing! The one thing i hate about nitro is changing those darn touchy clutch shoes. I have over 2 gallons on one set of Orion V6 shoes and there is almost no signs of wear! Woo hoo! And when it is time to put new shoes in, its a breeze. Plus the nearly infinite amount of adhustability allows me to really tune the clutch for the right track conditions vs. playing with the slipper (which if dialed out too loose or too tight can have issues).

antsb -> RE: ANYONE RUNNING LRP SPEC 3 YET (7/13/2006 12:25:34 PM)

anyone used the lrp tuned pipe if so wots it like iam thinking of getting one!
where did you get the orion v6 clutch form?
