Hej Kasper!
I have used as heavy as 105 g/m2 on a 3W ultimate i had some years back.
It was strong and not to heavy.

Now since the ultimate was a bipe the wings where kind of thin, if you are covering a monoplane pherhaps an Extra you will not need the strenght that i was getting from the 105g.

I think that you will get a satisfactory surface strenght from 50g cloth and with some care in the application process it will not be heavier than plastic fabric.

Good luck!

Gott ****!

Niklas.

Fiberglass weights:

If you are applying directly to a foam wing, use 68 to 122 g/sq meter weight cloth. Use a foam compatible resin.

If you are applying to wood sheeting over a foam core, use 25 to 46 g/sq meter weight cloth.

FYI - To convert from oz/sq yd to g/sq meter, multiply by 33.9.

Picture is of 25 g cloth.
