Ordered this for my nephew.. figured that I'd start him out with a durable buggy.. (if the tranny can take my Neo BL, it should be fine forever with the 540.. :P) (it is pretty much the same tranny as the Lunchbox)

Also got him a Duratrax Piranha peak charger (got it from Tower for $6 used, LOL!) And gonna give him a Futaba 2PL.. and my 2 Piranha 1900mAh batteries.. (so I got more excuse for some newer hardware, LOL!!) As well as all the ballbearing that the Hornet needs..

Should be good to go! Want him to build the kit himself.. start him right! :P

(I think I might get one for myself, so we can build together.. ha ha ha!!)

Slick... You get to have all the fun building it and test driving it... The best part of RC.

No no, he lives far away from me.. so he is going to be building it on his own.. that's why I thought it would be fun for me to get one too (LOL!) and build them together..

We will be using internet to chat and video conferencing with each other.. so I won't be test driving his!!

Thats cool man ..... you got him one like you were saying. I like the idea of video chat to help him build it too. Man thats the kind of stuff I never could have done back in the 80's. Only a phone back then. Man I remember it was Xmas of '83 or '84 when I got my Frog. I was about 350 miles away from home at my grandfather's house. It was about 1 or 2 in the morning and I was up alone building the Frog all night. I got to the tranny and realized I had no diff lube. I looked around and only found really thick grease. It was REAL thick. I remembered my friends' brother used vaseline for his Frog, so I went to find some. All I could find was neosporin, so yeah you guessed it .... My Frog was lubed up with neosporin ..... I wasn't gonna let anything stop me that night LOL. It ran fine. I eventually bought some lube at the LHS. I say LHS .... it was a toy store in the mall LOL.

Yep just let him go, I'm sure he will manage.

Make sure you tell him its only a PLASTIC TOY, they don;t need the screws done so tight that you strip them (mistake I always use to make, I thought they had to be super tight).
