It's been flown with a bunch of motors, including a Saito .72. But of course a YS 63 would be great. YS's are typically for YS people, so the choice is yours.

Patty's current Extra 300 S is trimmed in Red. But her 260 was trimmed like the profile. It's the one in the Nat'l Air Space Museum in DC.

I'll stick with the multi colored scheme. It looks nice.

STLPilot, contemplating which engine to go with. I want a quality engine, but mostly I want maximum power without adding any dead weight. What would you recommend? OS 55 AX, .50SX, .46 FX Saito 72, 62 or any-other recommendation.

Thanks again,
John

Film use on the 260's is similar to the one on the Katana's v2.
Its high quality China cote that been sold in USA under US brand...

Colors match Monokote and Ultracote as well if need any repair...

TMPro is including in some of its ARF's small pcs of film for small repairs so you
wont need to go out and look for similar brand or color.

I was told the other day that OS 55AX is supposted to be really good, almost a 4 stroke feel in a 2 stroke package. It's really up to you and what you like. The .50SX will do the job, heck even the Thunder Tiger .46 will too.

Hi all, met with Dion yesterday and picked up my extra 260, Dion took

the time to open the box and go thru the components with me. Really

superb looking build and cover job. I still can't get over the fact of

servo leads being supplied. I'm looking foward to getting this one ready.

I'll keep all informed.

As an arf there's not much to do, i'm going with jr 811's' electron

six rec., depending on weight a 5cell nickel metal, OS 46-fx

on 30% with a 12-3/4x 3-3/4 apc. I almost forgot to mention

all hinges are spot gluded in ele, rud, ail., what a nice touch.

Mine came today. Good thing the guy installing our new windows was here and told me about it. He said the wife was going to hide it and I wasn't getting it 'til Christmas. Here's some pics. Everything looks packed very well. The wing panels feel very light. I would weigh everything on my digital scale, but I'm going to play the wife's game.

Got one coming myself tomorrow. In the pics on the website it looks like a supertiger in there. I've got an older GS.45. How would that do on it? Also, do I understand that the hinges are glued in?

Hinges are tack glued in on one surface. Nice touch. Kit looks great. I'm waiting to start because I'm in the middle of a MOJO 40 kit right now. Both are going to have OS .55AX on then. I know, throttle control!!

I showed the 260 at breakfast this morning to 18 flyers. They were impressed with the whole ARF and what came with it.

Recieved mine also. Very nice so far from what I've seen. The wings are definitley smaller then what I'm used to on a .40 size profile, but that's fine by me if this one will actually fly a nice straight line along with some good 3D. The servo extensions and pre bent pushrods are a plus.

Mines all together. Probably one of the easiest and quickest arf builds I've done. Instrucions had me scratching my head a couple times, mainly trying to find some of the cutouts on the fuse, but that's it. I'm figuring it took me about 4.5 hours. I loved the prebent, presized pushrods and even the tack glued hinges were nice. I had to hog out the hole where the wing bolt goes so that it would match up with the blind nut in the other panel, but that was the only snag in the whole build and that only took about 5 minutes to fix. Should have a maiden flight on it tomorrow. For now all I've got is a .40SF so I'm not expecting phenomal vertical, but it'll do till I get my .46 back. Will try to take some pics and vid.

Good stuff guys. Just a tip, make sure the plane balances neutral inverted. Fly straight and level half throttle and then go inverted, it should fly hands off. If it shoots down, nose heavy, up, tail heavy. Fly it neutral and it'll like that spot best for all aspects of flying.

Sorry, didn't get a chance to fly today. Weather could have been nicer. One thing about the balance. Mine is balancing at 4.75" instead of the 4.25" as listed in the manual. My batts(1500 nicad) and Rx are in the exact position as shown in the manual and my motor is also in the middle of the engine mounting rails. For anyone else that has built them, have you been able to get it balanced?

I did read on the ****s that someone built a electric powered version and balanced it at 4.25" and felt it was very nose heavy. Most profiles I've owned have dealt with a tail heavy cg with not much of a problem.

Put a flight on it today. Windy, so I'll hold off on a real flight review till I get more time. One thing I definitley noticed was it was still very nose heavy. Mine is balanced at 4.75" and it was impossible to slow down for any type of high alpha flight, it would immediatley start to stall/snap.

The wheel pants, I don't know why I put them on but they're not really up to the task. Mine pretty much exploded when I landed, and it was an easy landing.

Also, one of the fuel tank zip ties broke, so I'd think about using some others. They're very brittle. I was able to snap the second one in two with little effort.

Take the extra straps that would hold the wheel pants on, and use them on the landing gear at the 90 degree bend on the fuse. My rotates a bit because there is nothing there to hold it on with.

Until I get the CG correct I'll hold off on a full flight review.

Just noticed in the classified ADs you can get this for 89.00 plus shipping. No real reviews yet but for that price can you go wrong? I was looking at getting the Katana 46" but am giving this a thought. I have a fine tuned Magnum 52 XLS that should haul this around. Really want a profile 3D plane. MOJO is unavailabe at this time. Only other popular choice is the Katana. What does everyone think?
