You're right, the manual is not good. The radio is not just good, it's GREAT. It's the most user friendly high end radio I have seen to date as well as the most complete, feature wise. It way better than the 9Z series it replaces and it is so complete that there is no need to buy the 14MZ unless you need the 13th and 14th channels, absolutely must have the colored screen or absolutely must have the MP3 player. It even has the advantage over any other radio I know of including the 14MZ in that the 12Z uses non-volatile memory. This means there is no back-up battery to worry about every few years.

I know the 14mz it pretty bad a$$ and I don't reqally eed that many channels,,I'm looking for the faster response the PCM 2048,,,and yes having 12ch soyou can set up 2 aileron servos p/wing on it's own channel it's nice!!!!

but I really haven't seen much forums out there talking about this radio!!!

There aren't many forums talking about it because as great as the radio is, its not for everyone due to its price point. Also since it is very very similar to and compalible with the 14MZ, a lot of 14MZ discussion would also apply to the 12Z. If it is within your budget and you are skilled enough to feel the difference of the 2048 resolution, you will not regret buying this radio. The only thing that comes close to it is its more expensive older brother, the 14MZ. I fly pattern almost exclusively and have always thought the 9WC2 was overkill (although I used one) and the 9C series (which my son uses) was more than enough. Changed my mind after 2 days of using the 12Z. Three of my buddies ordered the 12Z within one day of seeing mine and are all happy 12Z owners right now. I have now sold my 9WC2 and also plan to buy my son a 12Z the moment his skill warrants it.
