I'm kinda new to foamys and electircs in general. I have a flatout and absolutely love it. I have been reading the rants and raves about the 3dfoamies and want to pick one up.

My only problem is that i also want to use the rimfire with the electrifly speed control. This is an outrunner that is mounted on a wooden firewall.(that's how it is on my flatout anyways).

I don't want to sodder things together so most of this stuff doesn't appeal to me. My questions are:

Does this hacker everyone is talking about need soddering or is it plug and go like the rimfire to electrifly speed control?

Will the rimfire fly ANY of the 3dfoamy models? If not, which would it fly best. Of course, if it can't hover the plane, it can't fly it in my opinion...

Is there anything bad about going with the rimfire over the hacker?

Any and all comments appreciated but i would like to hear from 3dfoamy before i purchase a 3dfoamy and try to slap this rimfire in it.

Thanks all,
Mike Fas

Hi, the above motor Id say would work best on the pro models, the supers are bigger and a few more ounced, but it will still fly them, with less vertical of course.

You have to solder no matter what you use, a battery connector has to be attached.

errr, well, not true but i understand. the rimfire hooks right up to the electrifly speed controller and the speed controller already has the deans plug stock.(i think that's what it's called) From there, the electrifly 640 li po comes stock with the same plug.

No soddering, all plug and play and your ready to go.

I've never soddered before so maybe i should learn. I keep seeing most people talk about it and it seems common in the electric world. I guess the stuff i mentioned above is rare and new for us electric newbies.

Thanks John,

Mike
