I am looking at getting an Evader ST. I have been reading the posts, and researching everything, and everything about the truck looks great. The only question that I have is how long do the batteries tend to last. I have 3 7.2V 1500's that I plan to use with it. How long to you estimate that the batteries will last on average? Thanks for the help.

Evader ST is a great starter car and you can't beat the price. I get about 5-8 minutes from a 1500mah battery, so I would say 3 is about the minimum you want to have or get some 2400 or better yet 3300 packs.

I also suggest you check your local hobby stores to see whether they carry (or can quickly get) parts for you. Maybe it is just me, but I have gone through a whole bunch of parts and ordering a $2 part on line does not make much sense. Now if you are a good driver, you might not need this, but for me ...

Will the 2700's or 3300's hurt the motor becuase it runs too long without cooling??? I had a boat that I used the 1500's on, and it recommended not using anything above 1500's because it would overheat. Just wondering

You make a good point about over heating. ANY electric motor can become damaged due to excessive heat. That is why you will read warnings about not running the motors at long lengths of time.....especially if you know the motor is getting hot. HEAT KILLS MOTORS!

Now....as for using high capacity batteries in your Evader.....you can do so but just monitor the heat build up so you do not damage your motor. I use 3000 mah nickle metal hydride batteries in my Evader with no problems. Of course....I follow my own advice and monitor the heat build up so as not to ruin the motor.

Good Luck!

My son and I will run 4 or 5 batteries of
different mah through our evaders at a
time, and the motors will get hot, but it
doesn't seem to hurt their performance
at all. The 20 turn photon motor that is standard with the evader seems to be a
good balance of performance and durability.
