No, I wish would have. I'll go back over and weigh it again tomorrow. Like I said it was on a friends scale, So I guess there is always the possibility of user error . Maybe I did something wrong with the scale when I was using it.

I got my new 300 the other day, looks like I can use all the carbon tubes and gear from my 300LX and my RC Blimp Ti tailwheel, savings will be ~9oz.

Do you have any pictures? How about the corners? Did it stretch around the corners or did you have to cut it to go around them?

I haven't taken any pics but it worked out real well. It is alittle tough to get it into the corners but it will go. I made my corners round instead of 90 degree squares and it will push up into them just fine. Once you get it into a corner, pop a little CA to it on the inside to hold it in place. Only cut I made was the final cut to length.

Well, I FINALLY got to maiden my extra today. What a great flying plane. It reminded me of my extra special with a tad bit more maneuverability. I only got one flight in and it started raining. Or should I say poring, with 45+ mph winds things got nasty real quick. I guess I shouldn't complain about the rains, but dang! Did it have to be on my maiden of all days? Well I only got one flight in because of the rains, and I was going to be late to church otherwise.
Well it was a pretty uneventful maiden. I took off and added two clicks of down elevator trim, and one click left rudder and she was flying hands off.The DA50 is a awesome match for this plane.I pulled a 45 up line rolled over and she held a true line. CG was set at the forward most location. I started flying IMAC basic routine and she shined. She loves to fly a straight line, and did a great job holding it true. The knife edge required a tad aileron to keep her from rolling to the canopy.I may have to move the CG back just little. The stalls took forever to get her to break clean. She just wanted to raise the nose and keep flying.....I'll also see if I can reduce the idle a little. Well after about 15minutes of flight I brought her in for a landing to be proud of.I kept getting "what a awesome looking plane" at the field today.Kinda felt good
What a great plane!!
Thanks Tom, You have another winner!

I saw shauns plane fly. It tracked exceptionally well. His CG was perfect, rolls were extremly axial, stalls were predictable, just an all around great flyer. He was flying trim passes and precision IMAC type meanuevers and it did awsome.

With the acceloration it had on the uplines I am sure it would. It was only flown trim passes and precision on the maiden

Hey Tom...any update on the next shipment?? I have one of the RWB Extra's in that shipment. Getting excited...this will be my first gasser.

I have a DA-50 question. I am thinking about using the Slimline pitts on the DA..any reason why I should use the stock muffler or install a can?? What are the pros and cons to the different muffler set ups with the DA-50?

Thanks,
Howie

The slimline pitts makes excellent powe but makes a lot of noise. The stock DA muffler is even noisier and I doubt it will fit without cutting.

A Bisson wrap around Pitts is a pretty good muffler with tolerable noise levels as long as you don't fly next to a retirement home. Little, if any, power loss from the wrap around. Lighter than a Slimline and you don't have to pay for a bunch of smoke coils you don't need.

Has anyone got any pics of the inside of the fuselage and how you got everything mounted? I'm having a heck of a time figuring out where to mount my throttle and choke servos.

Right after I posted this question, I was browsing and saw that thread. It is perfect and I'm doing it almost exactly like you did. One Question though, where did you obtain the servo box that the servo by the gas tank is mounted in? Don't tell me you made it cause that would just make me jealous. I ain't that good at precision cutting any more since my eyesight is going away.

Anyhow, thanks for the reply, it made things much clearer. Sometimes the brain just stops functioning and a kick start is good to come by.

Jim
