I vote mini t not just cause I used to own one but cause it is so much fun driving 2 wheel drive rather than 4 on dirt. My brother owns a rc18mt with a spy esc and its quick but to put a comp x into it and the diffs would blow the apart. They are not as solid as a racers edge ball diff and to tell you the truth I have heard stories of guys blowing the diffs with 6800s and 3 cell lipos. To put a 8000 in there, the diffs will beg for mercy. Aluminum does not bend as easily as you think. I have a alluminum savage and I crashed it into a curb at full speed(missed the ramp by a few inches)and only bent a dogbone. To have something that small in alluminum would be even stronger. Anyway you would go slower with a rc18 because you would split the power between 4 wheels instead of 2 like the mini-t. Just watch this video http://www.beatyourtruck.com/project-MINIT-stage6.html
and compare it to this video http://www.beatyourtruck.com/project-RC18T.html (the video is at the bottom of the page). Read both pages and tell me which you would rather have.

aluminum is for show.............not bashing.

My aluminum has held up 10x stronger then any plastic part. My plastic parts just snapped, my aluminum just keeps on giving.

My mini-t's can hardly go through cut grass, any kind of rough terrain is out of the question for them. If you have some kind of groomed surface, and intend to race, then pimp the Mini-t I guess. But wouldn't it be better to have two trucks anyway? Then you can upgrade them both later.

Reading about aluminum quality etc if i do make an all alum mini-t i was going to buy the integy evo-x conversion. Is this conversion what one would call bash worthy? Or is it cheap weak aluminum.

I have had better luck with K factory or 3 racing alum than I have with the integy stuff. The integy stuff is prettier when new if it's just for show.
