My SE is broken in and tuned for power. I run it a little rich for safety and the power jet is 2 and 1/16 turns out. This is my second vulcan as I thrashed the motor on the first car. My kids got me the SE. I was very careful breaking in the new motor and ran 10 tanks through it. It was hard to start until I found that the one way shaft was slipping. Once it was cleaned it started much easier. It now runs fine. Broken it it starts on the first two or three pulls.

ok, even if you have the vulcon you can use a fail safe, it's 4 AAA battterys compared to 4 AA, ok so I won't have a problem installing the fail safe, and the breakin tanks are? 3 4 6 Im still waiting for the manual, thaks so much for your help guy's.

Cen,

Just sharing my experience.
I found that the low speed needle is quite sensitive, if set too rich the engine would be difficult to start, my LSN is set about 2 turns out. once broken-in make sure that you set the HSN so that good smoke is visible at all times. The fuel tank cap should give a bit of "pop" noise when you lift it meaning it's sealing properly, otherwise it would be hard to start up and it may cause the engine run unexpectedly leaner. Tighten the screw on the bottom of the cap a little if you have some air leak.

Wesjr,

How did you clean the one way shaft? Did you remove the pull start and just wipe it down. I'm also having a hard time starting my Vulcan SE after being broken in.

Thank You,

Well you have to take the engine out, then you remove the pull start, once you take it out remove the one way bearing inside the pull start and what I did is I cleaned it with Denatured alcohol make sure you re-install it the way you took it off, and you should be fine.

hey guys,
im totaly new to nitro and bought a vulcan non se, i ran it in for 3 tanks and then gently for 3, since have almost run thought a 1lt of 25% nitro fuel. now i cannot start the car, and if i do get it started it stalls when load is applied to the motor and cuts out, then wont start. i have a feeling my bro played with the settings. i dont know what is high and low etc, i can only see 2 screws the one that is sort of attached to above the fuel nipple and the one under it with the spring. can someone tell me where these 2 screws should be set.

cheerz matty

2 turns out on LSN and 3 turns out on HSN.. thats a base tune and you can work from there.

High is the needle thats connected to the fuel line. LSN is the screw in the middle of the slide carb.. at the end
