I can't figure how to ask a question in this area, so I am trying this. Does anyone out there in RC land have a great planes big stick 40 KIT stuck back in a closet or somewhere else, or maybe a set of PLANS from the KIT ( not ARF) I built one a long time ago and would love to have another. If so , please email me at Wisher26000@yahoo.com

Well, last year I built a big stick 40 and the maiden flight was just the best. (This is my first glow plane, I have had some electrics) It later had a fatal failure ( my fault ) soooo I built another ARF and the maiden flight was very very short. I am not completely sure what happened, but I would greatly appreciate any thoughts. There was some wind maybe 15-45 degrees off the center of the runway. I wanted NOT to crash the thing so i had it at a 1/2-3/4 throttle Evolution 46 engine. It was rolling fast and as i eased up on the stick, it just flipped and made a beautiful inverted landing. I think my mistake was not flooring the **** thing and getting it up in the air instead of playing near the ground. Possible? CG and everything seemed fine. Thanks, Dean

This is the very plane i learned to fly with after flying helicopters for several years. I could never see this plane as "Out of control". For me this was a great plane that flew with ease

thanks I bet it was my "flying" technique. I am putting a new rudder on and i plan to get it back into the air in a few days. The right way this time. Thanks Dean

My 15 year old and still going strong GP Big Stick 60, has given me more flying pleasure than possibly all my other planes put together. It was first powered with a ASP 61 on a tuned pipe and it's performance was simply unbelievable, but it consumed fuel at an alarming rate.

After a couple years I swapped that arrangement for a less thirsty ASP 75 with a Mac's muffler. Recently I went completely opposite and switched to gas with a Zenoah G20, which has proved to be an excellent choice for this model, now in a taildragger mode.

Everyone should have a Stick of some sort in their hangar.

Karol
