The Dart would be a BAD choice for a beginner's plane!! The Debonair is DEFINATELY the way to go for a Newbie. It is a very well behaved trainer aircraft. Also quite durable. Build instructions are excellent. If you are a fairly experienced pilot having soloed on a conventional trainer let us know and we will make a recommendation based upon what you are looking for in terms of aerobatics, combat or general sport plane.

Ross is right on! The Dart is more of a C class combat plane... Go with the Debby!

Very interesting location in your profile pougee_au, Where are you from?

MapQuest puts your location in the ocean east of Japan a ways???

Ok If I put in the LAT as a -35.6851, I find you between Canberra and Melbourne. Is that correct?

How soon are you going to start building? The reason I ask is that Kraut is or will be looking at making plans for his new Spadet.

The Debonair is a good ship though and Krauts new ship might actually take more advanced building skills. Better to just knock out a quick ship so your emotional attachment isn't too high. SPADs are tough, but there will always be that "I don't wanna break it" attitude with the new plane/pilot. The durability and ease of replacement of SPADs will get you over that fairly quickly.

I don't know if I would say father...all I can sy is that I had a little bit to do with getting it started...but it's everybody else that took it from there and made it what it is today!!!

Yep...the Debby is my design...and it came about becasue a beautiful lady named Jan (Sassy) crashed her LT-40 into a million pieces, and had a Dur-plane that would barely fly because it was carrying 3 pounds of epoxy ...anyways, I decided to try my hand at a trainer airplane with her help...and the product was the Debonair...and it was Kraut who came up with the name. Sassy was able to solo on the prototype Debby the same day we took it out to test fly it! She still has Debby #1...and I still have Debby #2 and fly it regularly!

Is it alright that i post up some pics on it here while i am building it. I done the rudder and elavoter last night. And from what i here its very hard to get the downpipe for the fuselarge. I am going try and make it out of 5mm Corflute. If i can't get and of the box plastic. How long does it take you to build the Debby?
