hi

i've just bought myself a tt-01 and am just sorting out the electrics. i used to have a 1/10th nitro car and am going to use the radio stuff out of that. i've been looking at alot of pictures of people setups and it seems everyone's running their receivers from their main battery. for nitro cars you have a seperate 4xAA battery pack to power the radio in the car.

my question is - can i run my receiver off of my 7.2v battery instead of having the 7.2v and the 4xAA's (which will weigh it down abit)?

i have a hitec hp-2rnb receiver with an operating voltage of 4.8-6.0 volts, so would i have to use an inline resistor to bring the voltage down?

The RX will be powered through the ESC. That is if your receiver has a BEC.

i bought an ESC - TAMIYA ESC TEU101BK - it hasn't turned up yet though.

my receiver does have a battery eliminator circuit if that's what's meant by BEC?

so i'll be able to run it off my ESC then? - sweet!

BEC's allow you to power the RX through the ESC, so there is no need for an RX pack.
