Status: offline 		When ordering and paying for the MCD Hummer... atleast the blueline, there is a 3month waiting period minimum for them to build it..... even if that is kinda frustrating, it's cool also

Dont know about these MCD monster trucks and that new Race Runner, but i guess they sell more and probably some big stores have 1 or so in stock. The MCD monster truck and their buggys... specially their rally cars are the most popular products they have. What i heard from asking around and with them trough reseller (that was 7-8month ago), was that they where planning on dropping the Hummer's as they sell really really bad, but that i guess is because of the size and maybe price of it... look at one in real life they are really big... around 1/4scale i say, and that is a huge thing to carry around and find a place to run or storage for, so most of the time a huge thing like that will just sitt on the shelf
If i would go for another MCD it would be the rally car with 535 wheelbase to have better selection of bodz, or that new buggy.

What exactly are you waiting for now bribeguy ? i can really understand your frustration... that you can't run that nice buggy yet, just sitting there and looking good and willing to play, but that little bit is missing. Well, i hope you get it sorted soon as i really want to see vidz of it and actionphotos Keep us updated and best of luck to you in getting it going asap

Hi,
We've found we prefer to not wire servos direct to the receiver instead we tap straight from the battery as we've experianced a few receivers fail due to the amount of draw these big servos take, especially when trying to move the large MT style tyres. We do it to be on thhe safer side because its not much of a hassel to do.

Status: offline 		I have all my bigscales drawing juice directly from the batteries, don't wanna overwork the rx. All works great with this setup and the servos respond better and are littlebit stronger... anyways, it's safer to run the power directly from the battery to the servos when it comes to digital big strong servos, that is my opinion.

There is a portion of the motor casing that just needs to be filed down a bit to allow clearance for the center driveshaft. My RaceRunner came with the G260 already installed, but the mod is supposed to be quite minimal and simple.

NewKid: I don't know of any retailers in the USA currently carrying the full line of MCD parts. I deal mainly with european companies as they strongly support these cars, and tend to have good prices.

Status: offline 		I guess the moding of the case is pretty easy to do, i sent my motor out to the dealer and had them do the work and install my engine.

Finally made a bit more progress with the MCD.

Figured out the neccissary configuration for the RX battery. What a pain in the but it was to build. 4300mah cells should make for some respectable run times between charges, though.

I refuse to shell out the money for a pair of Hitec digital servos, so I tracked down one of the optional Hitec 805 MCD servo trays. Also picked up a machined aluminum fuel tank cap, and front chassis brace.

The fuel cap is VERY nice, and features a vented design (nice since MCD's are known for having a sealed tank) and a knurled finish.

The front end brace looks really nice from a few feet away. The MCD "bat" shape is a nice stylistic touch, and it's always nice to have a bit more metal, right? Unfortunately, the finish is fairly poor if you look closely, and for the price, it was a bit of a dissapointment.

Oh well.

Overall, the car is coming together nicely. I'm still waiting for my dual Hitec 805's from Tower Hobbies though...............the 3+ week wait so far is making me nuts!

Status: offline 		Double WOW!!! I got my MCD Race Runner yesterday; this thing is major chunky, my Baja5b looks kind of fragile when they sit side by side. I read Brideguys post and realized that I didn't want to do any setup work so I paid TROY at Large Scale RC for the RTR service. It was worth every penny, Troy did an excellent job. I had him stuff the chrome 30.5cc CY in it.... He also installed some massive 1/4 scale Hitec HS705MG servos. All I had to do was install the radio. The car was up and running in about 5 minutes!! Out of the box, the MCD gearing is extremely low. I think the stock gears have 39 and 24 teeth. The MCDs acceleration is viscous and it tops out quickly with the stock gearing. The 30.5cc CY and the low gearing make it brutally quick off the line. I think it will do about 35mph out the box.... But that 35mph is almost instant!!! It will definitely smoke my HPI off the line. My HPI has a stock 23cc Fulie and a Jetpro pipe. It will do about 40 to 45 mph. The MCDs low gearing is no fun when driving in an open field but it might be perfect for the track. I'm taking it to the track this weekend. Troy sent me a 30 and 33 tooth gear that I can use when I want to go faster but I'd like to see how it performs at the track before making changes. I’ll post pix of my Baja and MCD as soon as I’m finish painting the MCD body.
