Status: offline 		Has anyone seen or heard of anyone making lightweight blades to replace the foam ones that are stock on the XRB. I've tried several no-name composite blades but they have all been a little too heavy.

i have the xrb hirobo too but mine is the one with the umbilical cord instead of rc....its the same in nearly all respects to your rc version though..

to your question ,yes you can use plastic/carbon blades.
i also owned a walkera lama5 v2 so i had a set of blades from the walkera spare. at 1st the hirobo with these blades flew awful so i made the center of gravity more foreward and this cured the instability.
so if you donnt mind doing it do what i did.

to bring the 'C of G ' on the blades foreword i used some electrical solder (cost about a £1).. i cut 2 lengths to about 5cms to 7cms (they must be the same length) and cyno'ed the solder to the leading edge (i started it from the outside blade tip ) then for added security i used some black tape (color doesnt obviously matter ) and cynoed to tape over the solder and blades so then there was no way the solder would fling/fly off..

it flew better then even the foam blade!!!
