Status: offline 		They show up on ebay all the time. Expect to pay a buck to a buck and a half.

There is a short kit available for a whole lot less, from

But another company is going to offer a COMPLETE kit, and that is Early RC.

I've got another of their kits, so judging by that either method might be better than the auctions.

Greetings to you from Thong Beach Florida.

Re da TRAINERMASTER, it is the featured kit design for next years' VRCS meets. I would be happy to copy my plans for you if you don't find a kit. About the only difficult scratch building part of this design would be the Fuse, but if you had access to a table saw or Radial arm saw, you could cut the dadoes and grooves for the formers' in the forward 1/2 where the kit used 3/8>1/2" sheet planks, etc., rest should be easy to scratch. Status: offline 		I just sent Dan at Early RC the cut files for the complete Trainer Master kit. He should be assembling the prototype model shortly. After that the full kit should be available soon. I talked with Dan this weekend and we are hoping the kit will be ready for shipping around the end of August or first of September.Early RC's kit will include the canopy and hardware! Just curious, anyone interest in a balsa fuselage and foam wing option?

Status: offline 		Bob, that sounds great! If Dan can deliver kits by the fall I bet they sell a lot- this is a great sport model and folks will fly them often instead of only at VRCS meets.

For this model I would prefer the built up wing to foam/balsa, if Early RC starts to get into more of the pattern type models then foam/balsa would be ideal.

Status: offline 		Well Dan also purchased Flight-Glass models with several vintage pattern models with fiberglass fuselages and foam wings. I hope to help him get these up and running also with laser cut parts and such. With his CNC foam cutter he can offer both built up and foam wings. I personally like built up wings but it would be great to offer an alternative!! Keep an eye out on the webpage for the Trainermaster and a few more goodies I have been working on!!

Status: offline 		I had to replace the built up wing on my first Trainermaster. I thought it was more responsive with a built-up wing due to the lighter weight and lower polar moments, but still flew well with foam.

Christmas of 2004 my Wife gave Me the Trainermaster and A-ray short kits from Lazer Works
I was impressed buy the cutting and quality, and the Service.

The box had several bags of pieces, wing ribs and tips and all the usual templeted pieces.

The fuse parts need to be glued to the sheet-wood (not provided) to form the box-loc type construction. ie instead of 3/8 thick sides as original you lay each 3/16 piece onto the 3/16 side to form the routed-out appearance and lam' them together.

All the hard work has been done with the short kit, but the sheet wood and the stick-wood, LE and TE Spars etc. has to be provided as normal, then using the plans as a guide to cut the rest.
Also there is no instructions / parts list, hardware or canopy, and plans were available separately if needed. ( There was a sheet with the sizes used for pricing)

Overall its a nice short-kit, I just need to build it one day soon, and the A-Ray too

Do you now if the Trainer MAster is on schedule for production with Dan. I checked their website and have not found any information for it.

Status: offline 		Yep Tim, it will be available soon. Dan has started building the prototype Trainer Master in his shop in order to confirm all fits and to finalize the assembly manual. Early RC kits come with an assembly manual with pictures to help explain some of the critical setup sometimes confusing on the original plans. He has finished the canopy and finalizing the jigs to cut the leading and trailing edge stock to correct dimensions. I have modified the design slightly to include a one piece 1/8 fuselage side but retain the balsa fuselage doubler so the finish product is close to identical to the original but quite a bit easier to build! Give Dan a call or send him an e-mail to be put on the list.

Status: offline 		Not to blow my own horn but got my kit a few weeks ago. Dan does a great job! Very nice assembly manual with great pictures. Totally 400% better than the original kit!! Believe me I have been through one!! If you are still looking for a Trainermaster kit give Dan a call at Early RC Models/Wing Mfg. 269-665-9630. You will not be disappointed.
