I've already seen on one site where there is a Nitro and an Electric Crawling section.........and those guys get along! Everyone just does there own thing there own way......I'd post a link, but we all know that's against the rules.........
Asfor the electrical guys, some of y'all don't even need to ask, cause I ain't gonna direct you to a peaceful, co-operative site, just to screw it up.

Yup, some there, some here, as we try to get these guys to understand that randomly driving over big rocks is NOT Rock Crawling. That the ultimate goal is to be able to attack verticle assaults which are longer than the wheelbase of the vehicle, while maintaing pinpoint control.
It may get off to a slow start as there are as many problems with conception of what true rock crawling encompasses, as there are mechanical problems to solve.

It may have to start as more or less a simple obstacle course type deal to get enough interested, and progress in technical difficulty of the course as mechanical problems are solved, until nitro trucks are capable of going heads up with the electric trucks. And that may never happen, but at least there will be some of us trying something diffent...... Not because its confrontational.......just because.

Hey Dez, in another post you said that there is a crawlin comp in September. Can you post some information as to when it is and who to contact. I will be gone for the next three weeks, I will check back when I get back. I do agree that there is a lot of stuff to be worked out in both sides of the line in nitro and electric.

Steve

Hello Steve,

The competition being held in September is the 06 USRCCA Invitational Championships. It is being held in Moab Utah this year. The date for the event is the 9th and 10th.

The top 30 drivers in 2.2 and Super were invited to compete. Then 5 additional spots were added per division for at large drivers to enter.

Needless to say those spots were filled quickly.

I'm sure it will be an awesome weekend of crawling.

There is info available at www.rrcrawler.com and www.usrcca.com

Dez

i have a traxxas revo 2.5 and have a pretty good bit of hop-ups on it, but i was wondering
if there is a way you can torque out the motor or anything...? i mean its fast as crap
but when i go to approach a high curb or my roc playground in the backyard, it strugles
and doesn't have the torque to make it over the curb and other things. . . i've gone through
7 traxxas spur gears tryin it!! so i finally spent teh money and got an RRP aluminum or wut eva
spur gear and clutch houseing and all. . .

so basically is there a way to torque the engine in my 2.5 revo???

You can always put a high torque pipe on it and gear it very low, but then you will just burn clutches up trying to make it crawl over curbs and crap.
