not to mention you're gonna need hardened steel diff gears. as well as a better brake setup and a sturdier chassis.

OH i forgot about that.your gonna stripp out the gears in the diffs so quick that you might as well buy those when you order your engine, clutch bell, clutch springs, clutch shoes, clutch bearing, exhust pipe and header, and engine mounts.

Does it still seem like a good deal to put a BB in a RS4? But if you really wanna do it, have extra money to spend go, and dont care much aout the handling of your vechicle, Go for it.

It is very possible a friend of mine has a small block rs4 and a bigblock a few of the big blocks he has put in it are: collari, diablo, an the hpi 4.6 all bigblocks and he used the ofna universal engine mounts ( might be the easiest way) he also has a really tight gear mesh and goes through dogbones like toliet tissue make sure that you don't have any play in the center dogbones forward backward and don't let the twist even alittle in the cups because that is another way he broke them. an u will need to preload one side of your shocks because the car will pull to one side.
Good luck
It is very simple really

Putting a big block in that paticular model HPI car is a bad move and you will experience lots of problems no matter what. I own a shumacher and the car was made for a bigblock engine because it was made to be one of the best parkinglot cars, and to be the fastest. But now the Xr 80 seems to be a bit better than it, but thats an 1/8th car. What im saying is, the .21 is too much for the car and transmission and it wont even be any fun to drive it. But if your determined to prove every1 that has doubts wrong, goodluck with the project.

I just recently put an os .18cv-rx into my car and stripped my diff after three runs. The gears that ur going to strip aren't the spider gears inside the diff, its the final diff spur and pinion. This is what they look like.. As for the engine a savage .21 would be sick. Would love to see some pics of the work in process.

i have a rs4 evo and i have read and been told that the stock drivetrain will not hold up to that much power , even with some of the hot smallblock motors too. it was designed around that stock t-15 and similar engines. you might want ask around.....unless you already knew that!

yeh,...your right...i was talking to a fella who works at a local hobby shop and he told me about the same thing. i was thinking about replacing the t-15 and putting a hot smallblock in my evo and he told me i would have to beef up the drivetrain.

I dont wanna sound like everyone else u should have stuck with the OS .18 TZ engine now ur goin 2 drop a .21 engine it is ur goin 2 spend so much money. What is the use of all that engine if no matter what u doin it goin 2 pull to one side (most probably to the right all the time) and another down side ur only goin 2 be running it on one speed!!!!!! with the .18TZ u could have run the 2 speed and raised up the gears LIKE CRAZY THAT MOTOR COULD TAKE IT now ur goin not goin 2 be able 2 take it on a track and u cant even drag race the car becuase ur always goin 2 pull 2 one side???? i bet I BET that a RS4 3 with a OS .18 TZ and the much high gear would still beat it in a drag race or on a track serously a waste of money

dannyhaddon you can do it and you want tear up to many things like i said i no some one who does it and they only tore up the center drive and the way that you stop the pinion and spurs from stripping is by having a hair of space between the two gears guys you all can see that he is not going to change his mind so just help him do what he wants.
