Hey Rare, how did that VSM work out for you? I've been considering buying one.

Honestly, i havent even used it on the Adonai. I mounted the magnet on my TT-01, but my TT-01 is in pieces and waiting for a bigger pinion. I havent even got to use the VSM I get easily distracted by other projects.....

That is very nice, dude! Think your the owner of one of the best Rustlers in the USA =P! Apologizes if you stated this, but did you make the main chassis plate? If so, with what?

Ah, nevermind.. Found out it's made by Fast Lane.

Thanks for the compliment. No, i did not make the chassis. Its a FLM chassis as is all the other aluminum parts.

I do want to make my own aluminum upper chassis though.

How would it be to make it out of copper? Thick enough for strength and polish it to a bright shine, it might look good with the shiny aluminum.

copper is gonna be a bit soft for the frame of an RC. you can hand bend copper pipe with relatively little effort.

Plus it's heavier than aluminum.

Yeah it is softer but where it would be going and with some angle bends for strength it would not be that bad. You would use a thick piece and after the bends and polish it up....it would darn sure be different. Go to a metal shop and they might have some real cheap scraps.

If not copper, as it is soft, then brass polished to look like gold.

A Gold and Silver plated rustler
