why don't you just get ur lhs to solder the deans if you can't do it.

ouch......
i dont think thats the problem. sounds like it was one of those nights like i have...the ones where nothing goes right and you should just stop and go do something else. i am more inclined to use the deans since there is so little power loss.

I use the powerpole connectors but I don't just crimp them. I crimp them and also solder the connection. With powerpole connectors you have to be careful that you don't distort the round part where the wire goes in at. Also the type I have you can pair them up in a way that they will NOT connect but red to red and black to black or can be used seperately at the motor or where ever. Also they are totally insulated so you don't have to worry about the heat shrink splitting or shorting out. Just my personal favorite.

Thanks

Thats exactly what happened! I had a bad night, nothing was going my way. So, I just quit and went to go watch some good old TV Im interested in using power poles though....there not as popular as deans i know that, but id like to have some experience with both and just to try something new. Ive done my homework and there has always been a on going dispute between Powerpoles and deans....i guess it all depends on the person and power needs. I might just try and soldering the deans again.....if it dont go right than im swithcing to powerpoles.

Yeah, ive heard of people crimp and solder them. A good crimp alone is fine, but i guess some people feel "safer" with the solder as well. I have not yet gone to the LHS for those powerpoles...hopefully tomorrow.

I also have alot of extra VenomSpeedMeter sensors and magnets, so i might install those into the adonai....Just for a good estimate of how fast ill be going

I got bored of not having a off-road session for awhile, so I took the adonai out today with the SS5800 power plant and I stripped the spur...well not COMPLETELY stripped, it just stripped whatever it was grabbing. So now the pinion just rubs against it. I cant figure out if maybe the gear mesh wasnt st correctly or if I had too much power, but think about what will happen with the mamba max!!! Ill be melting spurs! Anyway, ive got to figure out what exactly went wrong...

Your motor probably just slid back and striped the spur. Don't worry the spurs hold up fine if you gap them properly and they don't slid apart.

Yeah, thats what i was also thinking. I might pick up some Traxxas Hex Motor Screws....people say they hold better. Or some Lunsford Fat BOys. I also decided to go with the HPI 90T spur, but without any diff balls.

I'd gear it for acceleration that way you stay cool then gear up from thier. I'd think something like 18 then go up But I may be over judging the torque of this sensorless system but I don't own one yet.

Sleepy? I thought you where on vacation? Also his is going in a fully aluminum rusty so his might need to be geared a few teeth lower.

26/104?!?!? WoW. Well, ive got a bunch of parts coming in hopefully in a week for both the Adonai and my sledgehammer. Im gonna try a 74T spur and the stock spur with a 16T pinion and a 18T pinion.
