Here's what I said about the movie at another website:

The movie sucked. The main character was gay. He couldn't act worth beans and didn't have screen presence.

Come on, they couldn't think of a better storyline than some kid who gets to go to Japan, screw beautiful women and drive hot cars so he can avoid jailtime? It makes me wish I was a juvenile delinquent.

The drifting was cool. The only two cool scenes was when the main character first first went into the garage and saw the drift cars and then the ending (Vin Diesel cameo). That's it. Everything else in the middle was GAY. Come on, the dude gave up his iPod to save his friend from further ass kicking? Vin Diesel or Paul Walker would've whooped some ass.

What they should've done is this:

A young detective (Paul Walker) from LA, is sent to Japan to investigate white slavery. Apparently, some Yakuza have been luring hot white chicks to Japan as models but then turning them into sex slaves and one of them ends up getting murdered.

To infiltrate the Yakuza, he travels to Japan, poses as a drift enthusiast and learns how to drift with the best. Along his investigation, he bumps into Vin Diesel (the Gaijin DriftMaster)and they pair up again to bust the white slavery ring, save some hot chicks, screw some hot women in between, kill some yakuza before dinner and smash up some nice cars in the process. That, my friend, would've been a better storyline.

Yo, Neon Guy, are you gonna be in Rochester for the car show/drag races/drift demo on the 2nd and 23rd?

PM me at DRC. I don't come here often.

Thats funny. I liked the redneck drifter but hey maybe thats cause I'm a redneck. Although him trying to be 17 was a HUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEE stretch. I do watch the f & f movies for entertainment purposes only. And I have to say they are very cheesy but hey if you are looking for some major life lesson or something you really shouldn't be going to any teen based movie. Oh and the Nissan motor in a stang killed me. What a V8 can't get tires spinning. Plus my name is also Sean so that was cool. I highly doubt that there were not stunt drivers involved. I have tried drifting before and there is no way a amateur pulled off those maneuvers.

I read that Rhys Millen, the rally and drift driver, did a lot of the drifting in this movie.

It's pretty sweet that it's set in Japan (although most of it was filmed in California). Such a cool place.

sorry it was 120 KMH all the crashes were stunt drivers. the rest of the drifting was the actors. whoever has the most time out there should make a replication of the commercial with rc drifters. and try to include the circular ramp

Wrong again! The actors did not do any drifting in the movie. They may have learned to drift while on set, but there was no actual drifting done by the actors. Looks like you got fooled by Hollywood magic.

2wd drifter think about what you're saying. you are saying that actors learned how to drift like pros in 5 months. thats completely sonmething else. no one can learn to drift like that in 5 months i dont care who you are. D1 drivers didnt get as good as they are in 5 months, so give me the link you sent roy so i can see where you're pulling this from. k thanks

Aries326 honestly the film that you describe would be sweet if it wasn´t some issues, like for example Paul walker runs to avoid jail time for delivering the keys of the supra to Vin diesel letting I'm escape. that why when he is in Miami the feds hunt I'm down ( and eventually arrest I'm). and other thing in the end of fast and furious 2 both Paul walker and tirese agree in opening a garage with the stolen money from the bags.

In Tokyo Drifting the drifting is made by stunt drivers (all of it) the same on the first fast and furious, but in the second movie Paul Walker did received intense training since the end of fast and furious 1, thats why you see im a lot of times (including the end of the first race when he slides the rear of the skyline towards the crowd and stops) you can see that explained in the extras of the movie. rent it and you´ll see

Rhys didn't do all the drifting. Forsborg, Hubinnette, and Calvin Wan all participated.
