Status: offline 		HI, COULD ANYONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION, I SURE WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. I HAVE A WEBRA PYLON 40 WITH DYNMIX CARB.CAN I USE THIS ON A REGULAR SPORT PLANE?OR IS IT A TURN LEFT,AND WIDE OPEN THROTTLE.THANKS FOR LOOKING HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL..........I BOUGHT THIS ENGINE THINKING I COULD USE IT FOR THAT APPLICATION.DID I MESS-UP?

Status: offline 		The Webra Q500 engine you bought will be a great engine for sport flying. The only distraction will be the carb. It doesn't draw fuel very well and needs a lot of fuel pressure fed to ithe carb to work well throughout its range. I would suggest adding a one way check valve in the muffler pressure line to the fuel tank. This will lock in a larger amount of pressure than you will normally see from straight muffler pressure. The second option would be to pick up a "TN" carb from webra. this is a more typical barrel style carb that works great for sport applications.

Status: offline 		Tullahoma Tennessee! That place sure brings back lots of good memories. Spent many months there supporting Wind Tunnel activities at AEDC. About a year ago I purchased a Webra Speed 40 Pylon engine as a Q500 practice thrasher. The engine came with both a barrel type(TN) and a guillotine type carb. The guillotine carb didn't show much promise for a reliable idle. I didn't spent that much time working the low end carburation, but the muffler/pipe that came with it seemed inadequate to produce a pressure source good enough for tank pressurization. To me that check valve mentioned earlier sounds like a must.
