reades -> Should we be concerned about the T-Rex 600 delays?? (7/13/2006 5:44:06 PM)

I was just wondering [8|]...I have decided to wait and get a T-Rex 600 so I can the advantages of a .50 size heli with the all the atrributes of an electric heli. However, the shipping delays and a few questionable "rumors" about overheating, etc., have me wondering if Align rushed the 600 to market too quickly.

Any thoughts??

I have not put myself on any waiting lists for this reason, just keep looking at the websites and hoping to get lucky with the inventory.

Thanks for your input!

Roger

It's just like any new product to come to market. It'll take time to ramp up production enough to meet the demand. All the reports I've read of late indicate it's a very good flyer. I decided late last week i was going to buy one, made a few calls, ordered Sunday and received my kit yesterday. I'll start the build tomorrow morning but poking through the box it appears as if the parts are well made and aseembly should go pretty smoothly.

If it flies as well as my SE, I'll be a happy camper.

I think it's good to see a recall......shows they are serious about a quality product that they want to be right from the get go......Sure is alot better than them just turning face and doing doing nothing till the next run.

I too had been considering a 50 Nitro as my next (Have a Blade, Trex 450SE, and Sceadu 30). After a few hours of surfing, checking over the Finless build videos and other comments, No question the 600 will be my next. Even in it's initial presentation it's outstanding, and there a few issues which I'm sure that they'll correct in due course. Biggest issue I see so far is that the boom is slightly slightly narrower than ideal, or the Servo tray holder & pushrod guides are a hair larger then ideal, requiring a 'wedge' of plastic strapping for a good fit. Not a big deal. I see they will even have metal upgrade parts at reasonable cost.(All out at the moment) I'll be ready for it in the fall at which time supplies and spare & UPGRADE PARTS should be excellent, and all the kinks worked out. I do love the Nitro's, but but the absolute cleanliness of the Electrics can't be beat.

A good deal of the 600 head looks to be aluminum anyways. Only thing to upgrade would be the blade grips and the tail. :)

Umless you're referring to after market parts from Duzi or something. At anyrate, Align has recalled alot of the helicopters, so hopefully most of the initial kit "fit and finish" problems will be resolved.
