I realize that the insurance covers damage to someone or there property but does it cover your plane? Like if you crash your 10,000+ dollar plane is that covered?

Jim's right if it's your plane that does the crashing or is involved in a mid-air.

However, if someone else's plane crashes into yours while yours is sitting on the ground, you're covered. At least that is my impression which dates from at least a decade ago. May be out-of-date with the current coverage.

Though if it was my plane that was crashed into, I would expect the other person to simply pay up rather than involving the insurance coverage. And vice-versa if it was me that did the crashing-into.

My $0.0175US-worth

Just got a bit more information passed my way from Richard Barlow.

He pointed me at the three key documents that should be read:
http://www.maac.ca/docs/2006/2006_english_insurance_summary.pdf
and http://www.maac.ca/docs/maac_safety_code_e.pdf
and the membership application.

The total deductable is $5,000 (THOUSAND) with the member paying $500 (HUNDRED), the rest by MAAC.

There is no member-to-member coverage for aircraft. There is coverage if you are hit by an errant model, as would be any other member of the public.

Key item is that you ahve to be following the MAC Safety Code, regardless of where you are flying. Membership applicaiton has you sign on this when you apply (have you ever read the form or jsut signed it?)

Hopefully, this wil answer your questions.
