Just finished designing the motor mount, going to be made one tues i hope. Its not very posh but its all about keeping the cost to a minimum.

tor: how do you make a custom curve like you mentioned, i have the 9cap futaba, i use expo on my throttle but it just changes as you increase, i cant get the "flatter" spot around half or so??

According to the Futaba FAQ at http://www.futaba-rc.com

"If you want to draw a true curve, you would need to do a throttle to throttle mix in PMIX 6 or 7 and adjust the points there as needed."

i will check it out, thanks, i have no complaints with the way i have been doing it with expo, i was just curious about the flat spot for hovering, sounds like a good idea on paper...

on with the build!

ive now installed the rudder closed loop, i used the durbo 4-40 system as i didnt get one in my kit (pre-production plane remember). Servo is a hitec HS5645, a bit slow, but im only borrowing it and ill get my own one soon.

down the fuz, i have crossed the wires over so i dont get slack in the non pulling wire

i then installed the firewall tri-stock. this is all pre-cut and pre-chamfered. Very nice touch

next, link up and hinge the ailerons.

Started with making the bottom of the phelonic (Sp.) control horns rougher by rubbing them down with a low grit sandpaper.

them i dry installed them, drew around them, and cut the covering away for a good glue joint, using a soldering iron to make sure i didnt weeken the wood

Ian, just checking on your progress. I was with Chris in Toledo this year and he had one there. I really liked the few improvements he made on this versus the successful 68" version. I admire your desire to electrify, I might go with a YS160 but boy are they thirsty.
