Ian,

I too am setting up an electric Yak. Please post your CG and anything you did special with the batteries etc. To get it to balance there.

Thanks
John

This is one class flight from a member of the Freestyle RC display team flying a Hacker/Flight power setup same as Ian's. Not the usual sticks in corners affair although that does play a part. www.3drc.info/media/flights/yak74.wmv

Wow....That was a great video. Awesome flying, fast and powerful...I love those big down wind tumbles.

What weight are you guys coming in at with the Hacker and Flight Power Batteries?

What CG are you at? Ian's previous post said he had moved his forward, but did not say where.

Thanks
John

cool.

I plan on setting this plane as an e-conversion aswell:

Phx 85HV speed controller
Neu 1521y Motor
Thunder Power Extreme 12s2p 4500 mah packs
Hitec 6985 Hi Torque Karbonite all the way arround
turturn light back plate spinner.

NOW all they have to do it is release it in the USA!

Ian, talked to Dan this morning and learned of your ESC burning up and causing you to lose your Yak, at the UK Freestyle Championships no less! Sorry to hear it. Dan said it was repairable. Hope you can get it back in the air soon. Hang in there!

ahh no, I know what I need

neu motors are more effcient at higher voltage and support 12s packs. Also the low RPM will let me swing a 22x10 prop and produce good power at around 5500-6000 RPM.
I have a hacker c50 12XL in a ultralight giles on a 9s3p setup pulling 53 amps static on a 20x10 apc-e prop. It does pretty good but the hacker motors aren't as strong as the neu motors and if I could I would run 12s on them but they would cook...

sorry to hear about your yak

Any chance of putting a 40cc BCMA gasser in this plane? Weighs in at 3.1 pounds with 3.5 bhp and swings a 20x10 prop at 7000.

I particularly liked the vigorous flying to the song that starts at 5:18 and runs for 4 minutes to the end.
The beat and feeling of the song match the passion in his flying. Only 4 words are repeated for most of the song therefore you are concentrating on the mood and not the lyrics.
Does anyone know the title of that song?
