I have setup 2 of 46s and flown 1 other persons and I didn't have issues with any of the 3. Is it possible you just have a heavy wing or a warped aileron?

The best way to checkyour balance is in the air.. climb straight up infront of you with the canopy towards you... push over the top and do a straight dive at idle.. wait a little bit and then pull hard on the elevator.. whatever wing drops is the heavy one. On my 33%er I had to add 2oz of lead to the left wingtip and it still could have used some more.

Keep in mind this method only works if your elevators are setup properly and travel the same distance.

I am assuming the pipe is hitting because you used a pitts style muffler? I have only used the side dump and put the prop washer out the same distance as recommended in the manual.

Yep pitts style...weighs 7 ounces...goin to get side dump....wings are the same weight....that wasnt the problem....not a fan of adding weight to the wing tips...especially when the balance is because of motor..LOL "offset" Travel is centered perfect on all surfaces...flies perfect now..staight...the only thing left to do is the side muffler so i can put the motor back..

Right wing dropping when pullin from dive can also be caused by to much R thrust too....In my case it was that....as it was heavier on the left in flight do to the tork and offset of the motor...It balanced perfect on the ground...

Also keep in mind you are going to need a lot more glow fuel than gas in the tank to fly 15 mins so the flying wieghts are even closer.

I just used used the stock tank.I can fly easily for 15 minutes of variable flying.I think most guys if they are not careful are close to 13 pounds. But most seem to agree that it flies well at 11 or 13 pounds.

The B46 will fit better on this plane then mine did....My carb is on the back so it goes into the firewall and the muff I used was the EVO wrap inverted which is heavy and prevents me from putting the motor back....the 46 will deffinately be lighter too...

with my settup the plane stalls in harriers..at all angles with no wing rock....and I have no problem going full throttle at any angle of flight...plane is solid...and lovin every minute of it....and when I mean stall, it doesnt move an inch...

How does the thrust effect this when you are at idle?

How do you decide what is causing it?

When pulling out of dive....the more throttle the more it pulled to the right....it was just slight then...it was inverted harriers that was scary...it would pull to a flat spin if I gunned the throttle with no rudder input...just pulled slightly when harrier is at half throttle...

HAHAHA!!! That sounds like the guys that fly the 2.4 stuff. I feel totally connected!!

Im just playin 2.4 guys!! Thanks for the help,I think Ill get the B46 for it. Maybe I could get Scott to swap me another motor 50 or the 60.When it time for the Extra..

Unless Chris is thinking about a 74" or so Extra. Then I can keep the 46GT!!
Happy New Years!!

Pulling out of a dive is the incorrect way to tell right thrust.. Don't get me wrong, do what you want.. I'm not trying to go there..

Attached is a trimming article that you may or may not have seen.. It's what most of the IMAC and Pattern guys follow.. Not that they are any better than anyone else.. Not going there either.. lol

Hope it helps someone..

Chris

Thats what I have been taught to use for IMAC and bubbagates worked with me a bit last summer and used the same methods.

Everyone has the own methods.. I was curious. THe main thing is its flying great now!

Frank: EF is coming out with a 78" Extra this year.. last I heard. It will be lighter than the 74" Yak and yes I already want one too

hahaha... it's def. going to be a nice flyer. The 58" flies really well and so does the 88 so a 78 has to be somewhere in between great and awesome
