Go to the extremeflight website and look up the instructions for the 50cc yak. that one has the spats in the instructions.

also look at this page:

ORIGINAL: FLYMIKE

I have the EVO-MVVS 45cc on mine with no standoffs and the CG is right behind the wingtube, its just under 12 pounds and swings a 22x10 Topflite prop and makes the plane fly and sound likes its electric....

Hi, would you be able to e-mail me some pictures of your engine mounting please,

eobermaier@yahoo.ca

Thanks Ed.

Maidened mine yesterday. 9 trouble free flights. I used one click of aileron for trim.

Torch 40 turning JC 20x6 prop at 8100 cold 7800 hot. (still rich)
Single A123-2300 with two leads into the receiver and one to the ignition
Futaba 7 FAAST
11 lbs 15.5 oz no fuel
No spats no spinner.

I really like the 20x6 because it keeps all the up and down lines slow, much slower than my 74 on Moki 1.8 and APC 18x8.
Hover is at 1/2 throttle with the curve in it and pullout great but the 20x6 will only allow a certain amount of vertial speed. (still goes straigh up with confidence)

Now I have two of these 74 inch yaks but the Moki 1.8 will come off the second one and go on the market, got another Torch 40 lined up for that airframe. Could it be that I am really over Glow?

With the recommended low throws the plane does aerobatics that appear to rival my Extreme Flight 88 inch. Most people go from the 74 to the 88... I still have the 88 but have added the 74 because it is all I have room for in my trailer.

On high rates I can walk it righ on down in a harrier to a low hover with the same (or better $$)
confidence as my 88. The Torch did not skip a beat all day.

Does anyone know how to do the Rudder to Elevator mixing for KE flight on a Futaba 7 Fast? I don't need much, maybe 2-3 clicks.

Richard

How well would a Brison 2.4 fly this plane? Thinking about 40cc alternatives here... something lighter then the 46GT.... sure wish Scott would do some more 40GT's

Thanks Frank.... I was thinking it might...

As far as I can find out..... the Brison 2.4 is 2.75 lbs flying weight with a simple muffler.... anybody know any more about the weight on the Brison?

I know they are good running engines that start well... lov vibration too

What weight engine did we figure out this plane needs to balance?

Thanks all,
SDS

http://www.rcaerobats.net/GAS_ENGINE_INFO/GAS_ENGINE_WTS.htm#40cc%20Class

Shows the Brison 2.4 4 oz lighter than the Briellie 46. Should pull it just fine. Use em if you got em is what I always say.

SDS look at the battery placement in my post 2080. This battery weighs 5.75 oz and is back under the turtledeck for good balance.

Gone Postal (one of the guys we hang with) did the B-46 and his battery is way back there too.

I stole his idea, two cf rods or fiberglass rods set ontop of the formers and glued in (I tacked mine with CA then added Gorilla glue to attach. I run a piece of 2 inch velcro on top of that that the battery sticks on with another velcro stap around it.

With the Moki 1.8 the battery needed to be just aft of the wing tube for balance.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info guys...

Another thing on the B46.... it has to have an engine mount.... just need spacers for the Brison... less weight there too

I might know where I can pick up a Brison pretty cheap.... maybe I better look into that

Richard..... I bet the Moki 1.8 is good power.... how much is FAI fuel these days?

I have been using 5% and have found it for $12 a gallon.

You know they say once you go gas you won't go back.. Got a good price on powerful Moki 1.8 with Bisson Sports muffler and APC 18x8w prop (18x8w at 8000r's) if you know someone interested.

Using the engine with spacers is cool. The torch took 1.5 inch standoffs and I made them out of hard wood and all thread for a net cost of about $2.
